We all have abnormal cells in our bodies. However, until you have been diagnosed as having a  harmful tumor of some kind you are not labled as having cancer.

I say harmful tumor because there are some tumors that are defined as beign, meaning they are not life threatening.

It is interesting that once you have been diagnosed with cancer even after you have gone through treatments most physians will only put your status at remisson not cured.

For myself I like to think I am cancer free. But I guess by mainstream standards I am living with cancer without disease.

If you had been unaware of your cancer status prior to becoming ill and going into the doctor to find out the reason for your illness, you probably had no clue what was going on in your body. When the doctor came back with the report of cancer I asked how long has the cancer been there. And the answer was Probably about 5 years, but we can't know for sure. From my questioning and reading I have learned that most cancers take between 5 and 40 years to be detected as a harmful situation. I think this maybe that, like my situation, your doctor does not send you for specific cancer tests until there is an obvious break down of the body or something unexplained by another cause.

Which to me means that for at least 4 years the cancer patient is living with cancer without disease.  Therefore, what can we all do to increase the time we are living with cancer without disease?  The general answer for most cancers is the doctors are not sure because cancer is a multidimensional phenomena.

For myself I want to get to know my bodies better. To understand how I relate to the world around me. To understand how to decrease the harm that is done to my body and my body's environment. And to understand Cancer.

My Cancer was a wake-up call. It was a gift of change, transformation, joy and life. In many ways I am grateful to my cancer. And I hope to make the most out of the lessons it has provided me and those connected to me.

I would like to take a pause here, to say if you are reading this and you have cancer or someone you know has cancer, please know, I know Cancer is serious, sad and scary. But also know that I believe with all my heart that those who have experienced this situation have affected the world around them in an acceptional way. Whether you or they know it something or someone has changed or made change for the better. The advances in the research and treatment of cancer is due to the strength and courage of those with cancer and those connected to them.

Back to why I say my bodies.  I acknowledge that I have more than a Physical body.
Depending on what tradition you follow you may have heard of Ka, Chi, or prana. These are all different ways to speak of the bodies energy or life force.
At a layer away from the physical body but interpenetrating the physical body is the Pranic (Etheric) body.

I think, it is a disruption in the pranic body that leads to a decrease in the functioning of the physical body. When we can increase our vital life force we increase our health.

Another body is the Emotional body. This is the vibration within our physical body that drives our actions and re-actions in life. It is through this body that we face, express, respond, reflect and encounter fear, saddness, passion, anger and joy, etc. I believe we re-inforce our prana when we authentically express our emotions. It is when we try to respond the way others think we should or when we don't respond at all that we begin to set up an environment in our physical body for unhealthy cellular activity.

Then there is the Mental body. There really is not a clear understanding of the mind at this time. Researchers are finding more and more that the mind, the memory, the guiding forces of our actions is not restricted to the location of the brain. They are finding that the mind, our memory is actually stored through out our body. What we store in the cells through out our body affects our health and how we respond to life well beyond the moment of impact of an event.

Surrounding and in a league of its own is the Spiritual body (can also be thought of as our Soul). It is the higher vibration of our being. It is that aspect of the self that is outside the realm of the material. It goes beyond  linear boundaries and is more than the known senses. It is through this body that we can know and experience the higher realms. It is our Spiritual body that helps us connect with Great Spirit or the energy that is the start and the end of all in existence.

As I learn more about my body, my chakras and cancer  I will share what I have found in this record of my journey. I hope I can make more and more connections for all of us.

Starting with the first Chakra. Known as the root or the base it is the lowest vibrating chakra. It is our connection to tribe, to community and thus reminds me that nothing in life can truly be done alone. Everything on some level is connected and we must acknowledge this fact if we want to continuing living on Earth in a healthy way.

The Sanskrit name for the base chakra is Muladhara which means either root or support. The Earth is the elemental representation of this chakra.  If you have seen charts of the chakras you noticed that the energy cone of this chakra is pointing down. The root's vibration follows gravity and attempts to link us to the forces and vibration of the Earth.

In the book " Anti Cancer a New Way of Life" the author shares a quote from Chief Seattle a now famous Native American Elder. This quote was delieved in 1854:

"Teach your children what we have taught our children, that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves.
This we know: the earth does not belong to man-man belong to the earth. This we know. All things are connected like the blood that unites one family. All things are connected."

When we enter the first chakra we become aware of our physical needs and the basics of human survival. Within this chakra Great Spirit gives us what we need to overcome obstacles.

Now one of those basic needs has come and tapped me on the shoulder. The need for sleep. I go now but look forward to continuing this journey with you.

This information is my processing. It can hopeful be educational. But please continue to question and research for yourself. I am drawing on my own experience, readings and teachings from the groups I am involved in, the book
" Chakra Healing" by Liz Simpson, Leyolah Antara's teaching manual for Kundalini dance and "Anti Cancer A New Way of Life."
