Tampa Metal Music Examiner Pull the TripleverAugust 13, 7:29 PM Tampa Metal Music Examiner Wes Cambron When thinking about Arizona, two things don't come to mind; Super Bowl rings and a metal scene. Right? Wrong. A metal scene is slowly emerging from the blistering heat and legendary humidity that is Arizona. Keeping out of the Bay Area (Tampa or San Francisco), many Thrash-influenced metal acts are sprouting up out of nowhere. Whether they are death metal, black metal, power metal, doom metal, hair metal or even hardcore, the desert is starting to look different from when Jim Morrison was tripping in it. .jpg) Triplever posing for a promo shoot.
One of the first to plant their flag was Phoenix's own Triplever. Though they never say what the name means, or if you should ever pull it, but Triplever never tripped over any obstacles to gain a fan base in the tens of thousands. Impressive lyrics and lyrical hooks can get a crowd singing, or amped up for a pit. Guitars and bass are usually a band's most power tool. But Triplever is unique with their past pace and hard hooks. Coming in with hardcore-like death metal, the vocals are similar to a Jack Daniel's and cola; the cola added just for color, so is the hardcore edge. The band's sound is heavily relied on by the drums. Virtually every song the massive drum beats can be felt across the room, when listening to their debut album, Beyond The Grave. Can the band repeat the success of Beyond The Grave? Many fans believe if they stick to their guns and never compromise, like their influences Pantera and Lamb of God, that won't be a problem. Triplever started out in Arizona, where metal was a stranger, and made it boom. Who's next, Wyoming? .jpg) Cover of Triplever debut album Beyond The Grave
