A body laying face down on the freeway
Shards of hot metal covered the ground
As if the sky just rained bits of steel
We pulled over
Running to the scene as fast as we could
The young woman was in a thick pool of blood
My brother, medically trained
Quickly checked her vitals
A faint pulse
No movement & slight breathing
Without proper medical equipment
Nothing could be done...
Her head injuries were too severe
She was gone...
No helmet and a motorcycle ripped to shreds
I could only stand there
Saddened by the fragility of Life
Another tragic image burned into memory
Reminding me to cherish the time I have
Until that day...
