Remember what I said about recording two songs at Walnut House? Well, we finished tracking those in under two hours. But Justin, Evan, and the funny dude whose name we can't remember (Tom? Todd? Did it even start with a T?) asked us what else we wanted to record. Two songs became three, then four, and around 11 we finished our fifth song and called it a night. Pretty crazy, considering we got there at 7. And extra impressive since it was Evan and Tom/Todd's first studio session ever.
Let it be known that I feel like crap for forgetting Tom/Todd's name, because he really was hella funny and great to work with and is well on his way to being a stupendous producer.
So those five songs will be mixed next week by the same fine gentlemen and once the process is complete we will upload them here. You will also be able to get them at shows. The tracklist will be some variation upon the following:
Incisor Spanish Moss Better Than Before Warden Matches
Needless to say, since we are about to start working with the illustrious Ryan York on bass and X the drummer, the EP is not representative of our future sound, but it will do in a pinch and it's nice to have something so impressive to show for what we thought was just going to be a fun evening.
In further exciting news, we are heading to the Parthenon open mic tonight at 9 (are you going? Yes, you are.) to play "Matches," and Norbert of Cinespire Photography will accompany us to get some low-light promo shots of unpredictable visibility. And tomorrow is acoustic night at the Grind at 10 (are you going? Yes, you are.) where we will play a brief opening set and then burn rubber out of the parking lot to go rehearse for the first time with Ryan and X. Things are happening. Momentum is growing. Life is good.
