It's no secret that I've never been able to stand the whiny paint-throwing idiots at PETA. As a proud eater of the world's flesh-providing animals, I see this group as nothing more than a group of glorified domestic terrorists.
This new billboard was the last straw, though and has succeeded in creating a backlash that I can only hope brings these idiots down in flames.

Does anyone else find it interesting that there are a lot of fat people who are vegans/vegetarians? I know a few personally...and a simple Google search found one who's not so thin.

I don't have anything against someone's personal choice to be vegan, vegetarian, whatever...but this very personal attack on an entire group of people is just wrong. Imagine if the billboard featured black people and fried chicken? The uproar would drown out nearly any of the petty politics of the day.
Why is that? Why, in the age of so-called "enlightenment" is it still okay to make fun of fat people? Hell, you can damn near be thrown in jail or socially shunned for making fun of any other politically-protected group. It's almost like George Carlin's rant about the homeless...there is no money to be made from the problem so you'll never see anything but token responses from politicians.
Fat people still hold the majority in this country, though...64% as of last count. No money can be made from the plight of the overweight...but a lot of noise can still be made.
