Current mood:  jubilant
With the inauguration just hours away, I would be remiss if I didn't take pause, reflect a moment.  This is obviously a historic moment in history; a moment,an event that many thought we would never see in our lifetime.  There is a buzz, an electricity in the air that is undeniable - a sense of anticipation that few of us can ever remember - you can just feel it.

The whole world is watching and will be watching as the 44th President of the United States;  the first African-American President, is sworn into office.

He cannot save us; only we can do that for ourselves.  But we will look to him to guide us and help us learn how to heal the wounds of the last 8 years.  There is much to do and a responsibility that belongs to each and every one of us.  Still there is healing in the distance, recovery in our sight and change on the horizon.  But most inportantly, for the first time in a very, very long time, there is hope.  Hope for brighter days ahead.

So be proud to be an American, especially today but every day - say a prayer and do your part.  For change.  For peace.  For our future.
