Hi-de-ho, everyone! We've got a few things to let you in on...
First, we're going to be playing live in the studio at 91.7 WKDU-FM here in Philadelphia. Our good friend Elvis graciously asked us to play the second half of his Greaseball Radio show. We're glad he's back from his hiatus, because he's got a great show there, and we are very happy and honored to be the first band he's invited in to do a live set. His show begins at 7pm, and we'll be playing at 8pm. That's Tuesday, September 22nd. And for those of you who are too far away to tune in the old-fashioned way, they stream live on that new-fangled internets thing. Go to www.wkdu.org, and there we'll be, starting at 8pm eastern standard time. We'll be playing tunes that will be on our forthcoming full-length record, which brings me to our next piece of very exciting news...
Delco Nightingale is going back in the recording studio next weekend, allreeeet! We were so happy with the sound we got with Mr. Quentin Jones of Lanark Records, we're going back for more. We're doing a full-length album this time, recording a very lucky 13 songs. Plus, we've decided to join the fold over there at Lanark Records, becoming a Lanark Records artist. We'll be in very good company, the likes of Charlie Gracie, Nick Kane, and the Reach Around Rodeo Clowns. We couldn't be happier with this alliance, and after weeks of 3 rehearsals a week, we are more than ready to get in there and lay down some tracks, as the kids say...
All this studio preparation has kept us from playing any live shows for a while, but we just got confirmation that we'll be opening up for Heavy Trash at Kung Fu Necktie here in Philadelphia on November 23rd. It's going to be a great show at a great club, so mark your calendars NOW!
And to all of our friends who reside below the Mason-Dixon line, we are confirmed to play Elvisfest in Chapel Hill, NC this coming January. We're looking forward to swinging out a few Elvis tunes, and can't wait to see all of you down there!
That just about covers it...thanks from the bottom of our hearts to all of you who support us and spread the word about Delco Nightingale. Keep on swingin'!
