“The objective is to showcase the wide range of talented DJs in the goth/industrial/alternative genre,” says sKizoFrenia’s Bettie Nacht. Krave Lounge’s weekly night of dark, alternative tunes is popular among Vegas’ goth set, and this Friday the party is going the competitive route.

The “War for the Floor” DJ battle will pit eight of Vegas’ best in the genre against one another for bragging rights: resident DJ RustRyu vs. Disdain; new resident Epic MegafaiL vs. Bear; Sektion vs. Desolous; and Dr. White vs. Ana Torpedoes.

“It's all very friendly,” Nacht continues. “This is a small and generally close-knit community. Judging will be done by watching the dance floor and seeing who gets more people and more energy from the crowd, which is why we called it War for the Floor.”

And here we thought it was because someone was going to win new flooring. But that wouldn't have been very dark and/or alternative, now would it?
