Why the Penguin?

You're probably wondering why I would print the picture of a penguin on my Cd-disc...! Let me enlighten you!

When the movie "March of the Penguins" came in 2005, I didn't want to see it. I thought it was a typical documentary about animals, and figured I could spend my time otherwise. Well, about a year ago I found the dvd in my brothers room. I figured: "I'll give it a shot. Maybe I'll learn something about the Penguins". 

And what can I say? It's a great movie! Not because it's the greatest action movie of the decade, but the way the Emperor Penguins where depending  on each other and living for each other blew me away! If f.ex. one of the penguins figured he or she would face the winter by them self, they would be lost! Here's an example: The guys (all the lady Penguins were out in the sea to get food to bring back to the guys who were taking care of the egg... you'll understand it all if you watch the movie...) were standing i a big group. And they were always moving from the center to the edge and back to the center. They were keeping each other warm during the winter storms so no one would freeze! It's hard to give you the full story... Watch the movie...:o)!

What I learned from the movie and why I have a Penguin on the Cd-disc:

What struck me most is that if the Penguins didn't live for something more than themselves, they wouldn't be able to manage protect the egg through the winter, and their infants would die! The Penguins live for something more than themselves. They live for something that is bigger than themselves. And their lives get filled with a purpose.

The title of my album is: "Don't want to live in this Ghost City". If I decide that my life is not about anything else than me, I miss out on life. It's like Ghost towns; they are quiet, dead, dusty - no life. Who would like to love there? But a city filled with life is attractive! 

When God made you, He made you to live for something more than yourself! If you're denying it, dig deep inside of you and ask yourself if you sometime hope there's something more! Your deep longing will never find rest before you acknowledge that there is something more than you, something that is bigger! Your heart will never find rest until it meets it's creator and saviour: Jesus.

So, that's why I put the Penguin on my Cd-disc! An Emperor Penguin would never live in a Ghost City, and neither will I!
