well i obviously would love to be miss high times - or mrs high times ...... but i do think that those people with "computer knowledge" are taking it too far.... or some have too much time on their hands during the day ........ but it would make it a lot more fair if we all start from scratched each month. this should be completely up to the readers and voters not the girls competing. and us girls would have to be on our game a little more.

i'm not sure how i feel...i guess it would be good resetting the vote total to zero every month because that way everyone has a chance to be at the top, but then again does being on the top ten really matter? for the past 3 or 4 years i don't think i've seen a girl who's been in the top ten get picked for a finalist..but maybe i'm mistaken? anywho i just want everyone to have a fair chance..and some girls like me don't have a fair chance because i donot post slutty pitures..that's another thing, a lot of people vote on girls who post slutty pics..and its not about showing skin..it's about showing love & what know about cannabis, how much you appreciate & why it should be legalized! i'm rambling so i'm going to stop lol. I think resetting the scores to zero each month would be the best way.  I haven't joined yet, but I definitely plan on doing so soon and I'd love a fair shot ..  I was a member on the old site but I deleted mine because haters were constantly knocking my score waaay down.

What will happen to the people thats votes are noticed to be inflating unfairly? Will their profiles be deleted after high times looks at the situation and makes a fair decision? I guess my only worry about it being reset back to zero would be that it would just happen all over again. Otherwise, i think its a great idea. I wish there was some way to track this kind of stuff maybe a vote should have to come with a comment or something? I dont know , but i think you guys have the right idea. I'm in the Top 10. Many of the girls in the Top 10 have been there since I joined April 30, 2009.
Many deserving of their points gained legitimately. With the exception of a few....
I know I have put a lot of my time into soliciting votes through my blogs, bulletins, email,  myspace, FB & twitter etc.
I feel that even if you reset the vote to zero every month unfortunately people are still going to cheat.
The only real solution to assure the voting procedure is untampered is to require an email or login to vote. It is unfortunate a few bad apples spoil the bunch : (
It states clearly in the rules that it does not matter how many votes you have.
I have confidence that Miss hightimes pageant will select who best represents Miss Hightimes.
Who that may be, no one knows? but having the highest points or being in the Top 10 does not ensure you will be selected to attend the pageant or win Miss Hightimes title. So what is all the fuss about?
Being a contestant in Miss Hightimes pageant should be about having fun!
I support Miss Hightimes decision what ever it may be regarding the voting procedure.

I'm more concerned with the trolling, hateful messages and back and forth between a few of the contestants. I feel that if a certain person or persons are being attacked or attacking others they should have their profile removed & or be disqualified from the pageant. I agree with many that Smokearella's profile should be removed she is clearly cheating, attacking others & ruining the vibe of Miss Hightimes.
I feel it is unfortunate that this negative profile is what many people visiting Miss Hightimes for the first time see....
Who would think there could ever be so much drama here on Miss Hightimes, lol.
It is sad to see the spamming, trolling, etc.
I don't care who is playing fair or not. I'm not the judge.

I think that it would be good to have a set number of votes you can get in one month or day instead of zeroing out the votes. The girls work hard to get their count and seems unfair to have it taken away each month. That's why I think putting some type of limit on the amount of votes per month or per day would be a quick fix. I am sure some will still cheat but less likely if they are only allowed a certain number of votes a day. Girls will still get their count but also keeps the lazy cheaters away. It wont solve the problem but it would help.

Ultimately I think user profiles need to be created to vote on the girls and that only allows each member to vote for one girl once a month. I dont know how it could be done but it would solve the problem! Hope that helps. Good luck to all the ladies! Happy 420 :)

I think it sounds completly fair and a good way too give everyone a chance, it's just a bummer cause I feel that I've worked hard for my score to be where it's at and I find out that it could possibly go back to zero... but i'm not trippin though, I may not have my score but il still have my herb ;)

Thank you for giving us an option over this decision. Is there a way you can post this to the MHT site so the members who aren't on myspace can read & respond as well? In my opinnion (& in agreeance with MzStunna) I don't think the votes should reset. For one, I think doing it every month is detrimental. If someone went on vacation for a week they'd miss one fourth of the time they need to accumulate the necessary points. I've worked extremely hard to get into the top ten and I'm worried that if restarted I will lose my place :/ Also, I think people will still cheat to get ahead. I say reset the votes each month.  There are some definite cheaters (or those with advanced computer knowledge) and their scores just get ridiculous in a matter of hours!  I try hard to solicit my friends, family, myspacers to vote for me, sending multiple bulletins, etc.  So much that some friends have deleted me, but I don't care....it's all for the cause.  I want it so bad considering I'm in my 30's...it would be a huge honor!  I want to show that you don't have to have fake everythng or be naked to love the ganja and know the truth and benefits of it.  You need a smart High Times rep, but not the kind of smart that knows how to cheat to make their way to the top!  Love the magazine, love you guys, and thanks for the opportunity to give opinions on the contest!  You rock!!

II think it sounds like a good idea because I only made a profile at the beginning of june and got alot of votes and could of had a possibility of winning the girl of the month.
 

Sounds like a great idea to me! The noobs are just as beautiful as those who have been on the site for months...it would make things much more fair and accurate...we are constantly soliciting votes anyway, so I don't see how things would be any different in that respect.

 

why don't you just allow people that are signed up with high times to vote and not outsiders? this makes it easier for people to cheat and tell their friends, whereas other people are returning comments and spending their time responding and showing some love.
Some girls on that website are high score and never even return one comment,does that sound like it should be miss high times? i dont think so.

im not totally for the zeroing each month because wont it depend on luck when you guys pick the miss high times if its not based on a long term basis? i mean it could just be some random person that jacked their system to keep scoring them

Well it would be more fair but like Miss Lolo said we shouldn't have to lose our places that we've earned! We socialize with all the girls & guys on the website, but it would help keep the cheaters out of the contest, but then again it's pretty obvious who they are...

* Just to add, it really won't help the cheating situation if you guys reset the votes each month because the person could still cheat in that very month and hack up their scores like no tomorrow, and therefore win?
Whereas other girls have been struggling and encouraging marijuana in a fair and sportsmanship manner and what if one of those girls go away for a few weeks? they won't get the chance to win because they don't stay in front of their computer ?

I don't find that very fair.. But then again this is just my opinion. I just think that choosing miss high times, should be something fair and equal, not based on the time they spend in front of the website..
I still think the best thing would be to not let any uknown and non signed up users to vote.

"resetting all the votes will just benefit the cheaters. Instead of resetting the count why don't you just compare growths of scores over time. This way you can spot the outrageous point gains that some people get. I've been around the sight for a long time and I have seen some people jump to the top 10 overnight then act like it never happened. Also there are people who have participated in this competition who have not cheated and it would be unfair to those people to reset their scores just because of a few bad apples. Instead of punishing everyone why don't you pick out the bad apples and get rid of them."

....This competition means so much to me and all the ..real.. stoner chicks out there that want show what being apart of the stoner culture is all about. Peace, love, appreciation for one another, the benefits of medical marijuana and hemp, and the friendships gained are all things that I treasure about being a smoker. Right now is such an exciting time for marijuana and our rights to use it. I think the next Miss High Times needs to be someone who doesn’t just know how to accumulate a lot of votes, but someone who embodies all that we as stoners hold dear to us. She should be someone that knows how to speak to the people and motivate communities to see the hypocrisies that are currently going on. She needs to be passionate about her beliefs and everything that we are striving to achieve. I've wanted to be Miss High Times since the competition first started. I know a lot of people out there think this is a great idea and will solve all problems with people cheating and such. For me, I have worked my butt off, since I signed up in April, to get where I'm at. I’ve busted ass to move up page by page slowly but surely and to start all over would be disheartening. Cheaters suck, but I do not want to get punished for it. I don't feel like I could get back to where I'm at in a month, it’s taken me 3 months to get to page 12, not even close yet to the Top 10. I don't know what the answer is but I don't really like this option. Thanks for letting us give our opinions on this and take them into consideration. I love the web site because it allows us stoners to do so much more than just vote on pictures. We can converse through blogs and comments, post pictures of fun times had smoking, share stories and experiences with one another to open up our minds to everything that is out there. But I don’t like all the pressure for votes. I understand there are so many girls it’s hard to look through them all to determine who is worthy of being a finalist so you need some type of system to see who people like. I just wish that everyone, votes or not, had a better chance to be seen and heard. I just feel like in these times Miss High Times is so much more than a hot chick with a blunt in her hand. ..Ill start off by saying i do agree that is a good way to go about this.. but have to give you my libra double sided full opinion..

part of me thinks that this sucks because i have worked really hard for a long time to get the votes that i have and now someone who has been doing this for 2 days is going to have the ability to swoop in and take what i have worked so hard for and it kind of makes all that work that i did for nothing but the other part of me sees that it would make it a much more fair shot for everyone involved and if you want to win you'll simply have to put more into it. so one part of it kind of sucks but I do see the greater benefit being in reseting it to zero each month and in that case i am all for it.

I just dont understand what is to stop ppl from clearing cookies. a new girl can do it just as well as anygirl thats been at it for a while. and if someone who has been using various forms of cheating starts at the same time as someone who is working good, hard and legit their points will skyrocket over those who have real points. I think the only way to really tell is that once you have made your possible choice for who might be the misshightimes for that month to check the IP addresses from which all of that girls votes came, to see how many are legit and how many are single computers voting several times in a row..


I agree with the choice to reset to zero each month but i think this will never really be solved until someone checks the IP Addresses from which the votes come... maybe not for every girl at once but for each girl under consideration of winning.. thats just my opinion but i am not against the reset..

I would like reply to the comment about "showing skin" equaling "sluttiness" . I have sexy pics on my high times profile and I'm proud of it.  I am happy, self confident and i really do not think that appreciating your body is a crime. Showing off your body, especially in a fun competitive context like this, should not be a big deal. I'm quite liberal, I'm a fan of nudity; it's comfortable, it's natural, and it's nothing to be ashamed of.  I really think that it is a set back and slightly ignorant to label a girl slutty because she is showcasing an attractive picture of herself. Looks are fleeting, and I appreciate what I have for the limited time that I have it.  I think people need to stop being  so very judgemental. I'm not a slut and I find it sad that someone is insinuating I am based on some sexy photos. When is it ok to show off your body, if not in a competition such as this? It is all in good fun. I suggest you find your inner sex goddess, make yourself feel beautiful and go play around with the camera. There's nothing wrong with wanting to be glamorous, pretty and fabulous.
Of course we all love to smoke or else we would not have ever ventured onto this site. Hopefully, we are all aware of the legitimate reasons why marijuana should be legalized and at the very least completely dicriminalized. I have no problem holding my own in a  heated debate  with someone who (for some odd reason) is opposed to the legalization of it. Just because I show some skin, that doesn't make me a vacant, ignorant, slut as the previous commenter so eloquently put it. Wake up call:  this is hightimes + pageantry, so please relax and spread some love instead of spouting insults and negativity.

Whoa I only noticed this was going on because of the blog on MHT. I am on that everyday, but I never check my myspace anymore, but I'm definitely going to have to start checking this more now!
This is my first year running and I finally made it just to page 9 and I registered on June 5th. I've been working hard to get votes, and have friends and family voting and interact with a bunch of the girls and I was happy to start getting higher :) At first I will admit I did think it was unfair to some extent because all the other girls had so much more time to get votes and be noticed. But after I started getting dedicated and determined to be a bigger part of this, I slowly am working my way up. I love this competetion and site. SOO much.
I do think this is a fair idea.
But...
I just started getting up there and now I feel I won't be noticed because I'm just on page 9. Not page 1. Not page 2. Not even page 3. But pretty close! :(
I think if someone has enough passion in what they want to do, they will find a way to make it.
Just kinda bummed, but I have faith you guys will pick who deserves to win.
Like you said, it's still kind of a work in progress, and it never hurts to try something new.
My dedication and determination will never stop for this competition.
