Well folks, it seems that history does indeed repeat itself. In 2002 I was awarded a Joint Services Achievement Medal by the Department of the Navy for my involvement in the So San incident. The So San was another North Korean vessel that was carrying missile cargo to the Middle East as our invasion forces were ramping up for operations in that region. We tracked the So San from North Korea to the Red Sea, where she intended to make landfall in Yemen.
GWB siezed that ship, with the help of the Spanish Navy, and diverted it to Diego Garcia. Once there, GWB decided to GIVE THE MISSILES BACK. One of the many reasons that I hate Bush.
Anyway, there is a ship named the Kang Nam that is in an almost identical situation. The thing that makes this case worse than the So San case is that there is a lot of rehotoric in the international community right now claiming that North Korea intends to launch against us. Also, they have been conducting nuclear tests, including tests of potential delivery platforms (ICBM's). Check it out:
Then check out the music video I created about the So San:
Then, pick up a copy of my book and read more about the So San incident as I watched it unfold on the watch floor of the Joint Intelligence Center, Pacific:
