Current mood:Rotting
reading musick ZPC4 promo I did in Downtown MPLS 11oCT08 That was fun,,,I walked non stop for 7 hours(I stopped for a few beers but did not sit) and my legs are feeling it today...
I walked around downtown MPLS yesterday as a zombie handing out ZPC4 fliers, wearing a ZCP4 placard ,,,I made about 80 double sided fliers that morning(as a zombie at the downtown Kinkos) and handed out (to the people who asked for them) about 70 fliers in 7 hours. The only place I got kicked off/out of was the MPLS PUBLIC LIBRARY sidewalk as its county property(and you need a permit)...And the IDS security had me keep moving when people were stopping me (on sidewalk) To ask for fliers and take pictures w/ me...
I couldn't find my liquid latex so I just used some make-up(cheap Halloween stuff) ,,,and I found a old suit in the back of my closet that was a little small, so it ripped nice when I flexed,,,the suit and tie were me trying to look like those turn of the century' the end is nigh' street preachers....And I was also testing how well the spirit gum would hold on the eyes.
My spiel was variations of "The 4th Annual MPLS Zombie Pub Crawl is next Saturday in the West Bank area, there will be well over 1000 zombies. So If you value your brains you'd best stay away."
There was a group in front of the downtown Target with blow horns talking about the 911 conspiracy and 'anonymous' was outside the Scientology place protesting them.(I should have took some pics of me with them)
Some humans would ignore me staring straight ahead not looking at me as I groaned 'brraaiinns'. Most would smile or stand there with their mouth open after doing a double take. I got a lot of pic requests and high fives.
Most humans with babies showed me to their babies saying "look at the zombie"
I had cars at stoplights honking at me asking for fliers...
Usualy when I came around a corner people would get startled...One guy came around a corner and saw me coming then turned around and went a dif direction(that was funny)
Some one said"you cant be getting paid enough to do this" I laughed and said I do it for the brains...
Most kids appeared to like it...but I saw a few clutch tight to their parents. I avoided little kids as not to traumatize any-This Is why I didn't use much blood or gore...but lots of kids were daring each other to touch the severed hand on my sign.
A oldster was asking me when I thought the 'End' was coming as he has seen the 'end is nigh' signs come and go through his life, I assured him it would come next Sat at the ZPC4
Painters at Loring Park took some pics to incorporate me into their paintings.
I caught a few Beers and Bars wished they were on the crawl...I let them know even though its in the West Bank area 1000-2000 zombies will prob spill into downtown, I saw that 1st Av/7th st Ent. is giving a cover discount for zombies during ZPC4.
I only heard 2 negative comments,,,One was "who cares" from one person in a group after I said my MPLS ZPC4 next Sat spiel...the other was from a 20 something saying "fucking ridiculous"
There was a group of students from Winnipeg there to see art and a couple of them walked with me for a while asking me lots of serious questions about what it was like being a zombie... eg"Q-While eating a brain, whats the strangest thing you found inside a human head...A-a used condom."
What I thought was the funniest was A blind woman asked me If there was a garbage near by since she had a fresh baggie of poo from her seeing eye dog. I let her know there was one 10 feet in front of her and she had her dog lead her to it. I then let her know I thought it was humorous that I was dressed up as a zombie to promote the ZPC4 and she 'saw' me as just another person, she thought that was great.
