wow... I missed this one in the theater and finally rented it last week.  A bloated catastrophe of false advertising:  to get our attention they plastered some sword wielding chick with warpaint tattoos all over the movie posters and previews- (hey that's pretty original right?  post modern ninja babe?  awesome)

She was in the movie for about 2 minutes and had one line.  She was in one fight where she attacks the unarmed, unsympathetic, forgettable main character and gets her head cut off.

I mean I don't get it; sure Hollywood puts out crap pretty frequently, as a citizen of the biggest entertainment economy in the world I'm ok with that- but when you create a preview for an entirely different movie than the film you are actually making- that's really hitting below the belt.  The Road-Warrior ripoff-ness of the film (in other words the only scenes they show in the preview) actually accounts for about 15 minutes of a two hour movie.

If the main femme fatale cop had been shot in the first 5 minutes it would have been a better movie; the sword bearing babe with the warpaint was a better actress and she had one line.

So despite working in the entertainment biz, and collecting movies that feature hotties with big swords for example; in my professional opinion Doomsday sucked ass.

At least I will sleep well at night knowing they are working on a bloody remake of Red Sonja :D

i agree totally, got the unrated Descent and it rocks. very eerie and full of girl power without being retarded. can't believe it was the same director. i mean Doomsday really gives Ultraviolet a run for its money... in fact i think it was worse. UV was ridiculous but not as boring
