from across the bar
The lights dim
They're ready to begin

They come out
upon the stage
Everyone
looks so engaged

Except for me
Someone caught my attention
Bought a drink from the tender
walked over and met her

When I saw her smile
I saw my whole life
Happy
For what it could be

Eats greasy food but then works it off in bed
