Happy new year and best wishes to each of you for a rewarding 2007.

I have had a very busy December '06 speaking to global media regarding all new Halford and Fight releases and this year's new Priest release. It was a lot of fun, and a great opportunity to catch up with our media friends and supporters.

On a different note, I will be twenty-one again this January 6, 2007. Twenty-one years clean and sober. I don't talk about it much, but this blog gives me an opportunity to share the good moment. Most people can handle using in moderation, but I still take each day as it comes and I avoid the temptations.

I recall my first show without a drink under my belt; it was Albuquerque, NM 1986 at the start of the Turbo tour. I went on-stage in a nervous state, but as soon as I started singing something happened inside – personally I felt elevated and elated. My voice came from a new place, and it has since that moment.

On a creative level I am more clear on my musical and business objectives, but more importantly everything else in my life is more focused and spiritually guided. I know there are some of you on the same path and I encourage you to stay the course. For some that are in the struggle I was in twenty-one years ago; I hope you find the peace that is there for you.

Halford is debuting its new music video 'Forgotten Generation' this month, and I am visiting with more journalists through January and February, as well as completing my work on the upcoming Priest release. I hope you all enjoy the new music and video releases, and thank you for the support you provide me and the members of Halford, Priest and Fight. Speak with you in February.

Love

Rob

Happy birthday Rob, I’m glad you got a grip on yourself so long ago, because you're still around and your singing is better then ever, I love Rising in the East the live vocals are very good. My father killed himself from drinking at fifty two years old; his problem is why I am a moderation drinker myself, mostly beers at the campfire.

I’m going to be looking for 'Forgotten Generation', it sounds intelligent already. Your music is deep; this is very important to me, thanks. I do say that it raised my standards and expectations of musical integrity; it takes me away. I’m glad I got to be there in this time as a fan. This brand of heavy metal just doesn’t get any better, and I mean that.

Congratulations Rob on your 21st anniversary! That's spectacular - (a deserving pat on the back for you) - this is a great year I feel and at least for myself included, am sensing the clarity for my life in business as well as personal is stronger than at any other point for me.

My precious Boo is TURNING 21 this September as well which is quite impressive given my black feline is older than many on Myspace - HAPPY 21 TO ROB AND BOO

For me this year feels like the first year of the rest of my life and am so happy and optimistic about the future and all its awaiting possibilities.

I thank you for your updates on the new releases, both music and video and LOVE them - you're incredible with your talent - you sound better than ever. At a point in your music career where many in the same boat sound dated or their voices are just not what they were, YOU KEEP KICKIN ASS ROB!

LOVE AND BEST WISHES TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES,

your metalhead squaw,

Wow, Rob, that's amazing. I'm really delighted with you. You're a strong man, with a strong will. My mother suffers from dipsomania, she's lost... Genetics. Me, really, I suffer from it too. I can't say, that I'm an alcoholic, but I drink a lot, though I'm too young. It's too hard to say "no" and to believe in yourself. I'm too diffident

I don't want to appear to be a sycophant but Turbo is my favourite tour ( yep, I got the DVD) and I would agree with you, that your voice changed, became deeper, sincere, sexy... Ohh, I remember how I've heard "Turbolover" for the first time and since then I'm in love with this song... with the whole album, with the whole Turbo period. Your appearance of thet time was... it was perfection! I really felt in love with Judas Priest and I was just 13! Great memories

I wish I was as strong and wise as you are. You're the exemplary for me, you inspire me to be more tolerant, patient and honest.

I wish one day we'll meet each other and I'd say: "I did everything and now I'm happy and I realised everything I needed and that's all because of you. It was worth it"

That is really cool Rob. We're all very proud of you and grateful for your continued sobriety. You mean so much to so many folks and it's because they see you respect yourself and that is where it starts. I'm very happy that Rob Halford is going to be around for one hell of a long time because he takes care of himself. I think the worst thing for a big fan, family member, friend or whoever would be to watch a person you care about destroy themselves. What a tragedy this is for some unfortunate people throughout life.

Hey Rob...have those vocals been thundered down on the new Priest masterpiece yet or what?

Good for you Rob, I like a few lagers now and again and to be honest if I'm with company I'm first at the bar and the last out, I hate myself drunk and wake the next day full of regret and self loathing. The job you do in the entertainment industry must involve a lot of people wasted and hangers on trying to get stars wasted.Great will power. Man, you've got guts I had to have three pints to say my wedding speech in front of 80 people, where you go on stage in front of thousands of people every night sober as a judge! Hail to the Metal Messiah!

The Judas Priest.com website lies dormant (thanks Jayne).... the Metal God's Quoram doesn't work.(who knows)...

But this will do!!!!!

Rob, YOU are the most impressive man I have ever been delighted to know of. I eat you up in all you have attempted and mastered...I, recently, purchased 'Two-Voyeur'... I have to tell you I had to laugh... not because it was comical, but because you are the epitome of "whatever your hand finds to do... do it with your might". Is there nothing you can not do?

Overcomer!! You go sir... A.A. members used to get irate at me when I would introduce myself as an overcomer rather than an 'addict'. I love it!!

So you are working on the life of Nostradamus. That should be very interesting! But, I know of a source of information that brings chills (like a high) when I hear it, I know it to be Truth.... Religion today has hijacked the many and they move along like obedient lambs to the slaughter..what a pity..

To anyone reading this that may have an inquisitive bone in their body: Check out the website (that also could use a managing editor with a modicum of Technological experience) at: http://www.cogl.org and http://www.tomorrowsworld.org

Rob, you want some fresh material that screams to be made manifest to the followers of the 'Defenders of the Faith'? Go there, spend some time and find out what they didn't tell you in Sunday school Lets get these metal heads righteously keeping and defending THE faith........

Constantine bad pope...... bad bad.....He changed the Sabbath.... who said he could????? That's the fourth commandment.....broken all the time by honest God fearing people, yet they do this in their willful ignorance and will be held accountable.... they will all be without excuse.......

Man, if you could be The voice for 'our kind'.... just think of all the 'wise' that will be confounded when we, the 'rebellious' become obedient unto the one True God and find grace and get the better resurrection

First Fruits BABY!!!!

Gina Colleen Philp ginkystink@yahoo.com Yep, it's me..... guilty of sending you those obnoxious, yet informative, e-mails at your AOL address.... I love you Sir!! Godspeed, no slower!!!!!!!1

ALL HAIL THE METAL GOD!!!!

A happy (belated) sober birthday to you, oh great one.

Some people think that once an artist drops the vices and/or addictions that he loses his edge. You are another example of how that way of thinking is pure bullshit!

Can't wait for the new Halford and Judas Priest stuff!!!!

Your preserverance is exemplary! I don't deal with the same demons as you, but I take things one day at a time, too. And I don't rely on my own power, but that of Divine guidance. Sound familiar? The clarity and FREEDOM that it offers is beyond explanation. The changes it precipitates in our lives, the peace it instills, allows the amazing creativity, strength and focus on the good moments.

If your story can change the lives of your peers and of your fans as well - keep telling it!!

Your new work with 'Priest and Halford and Fight show tremendous creativity and dedication!
Love it!! Keep it up!

God bless!

Rob,

I just found this today! I never knew any of the things that you talk about in this blog! I really admire you and My husband and I are HUGE fans! We have been fortunate to see you at Shoreline in Mountain VIew with Halford and at the Bone bash and with the Ozzfest in 2004. Then I took my son to see you at Konocti! in 2005! I love for my kids to experience the music live and we loved every show!!!!

I hope you come our way again and I am looking forward to another show!!!!!

Lastly my son is at boot camp right now and the thing that he has missed the most from home is MUSIC . He said that if he calls again to play Priest into the phone!!! I hope I am able to fulfill that request!!

I hope that you read this and know we are great fans of your work.

Peace to you

Hi Rob,

Wow, in all these years I didn't know about your struggles with alcohol. I admire you so much! You are such an inspiration to me in so many ways, and I hope to live the rest of my life with as much honesty, integrity and love of life as you do. You are an incredible man, and STILL such a kickass Metal singer! You are once, now and always THE METAL GOD!!!

I am a member of the Forgotten Generation ("X") of which you sing. Glad to have you out there giving voice to my concerns! You know, you first warned us about the "power-mad freaks that are ruling the earth" back in the Orwellian year of 1984. Too bad more people didn't listen; as a result, that message is even more applicable today. We ALL need to speak out and make this world a better place to live!

Love always,

Bob

Congratulations Rob on 21 years!

I've just given up smoking which although not as debilitating as alcohol in the short term is just as insidious.

Don't drink much now either, would rather be clear headed on my days off to do things.

Stay cool

Hooray for you Rob,

Iam so glad you have shared this part of your personal life with your fans that love you alot. I grew up in an alcoholic home also. My dad was a recovering alky with 20 some years under his belt as I was growing up. My mother practiced until 1989 then she got sober but she died with only 5 years under her belt of cancer. I myself am in recovery for abuse of the sexual nature and I have 16 years of recovery under me. I don't drink or smoke because of what I saw it do to the poeple around me. I encourage you to keep working your steps and stay on the path to soberiety. I honestly and truly hope and pray that the good lord is with you all of your days.

Love,

Marla Hank

....HaLFoRD,.. I'm so STOKED that -- 20 years after submitting to your onstage larger-than-Life Priest-powered presence from the PNE Forum's floor, teen-green eyes popping out in awe -- I still look up 2 U & go "wow"!! wHAT a maRveL--....I recently quit 'DRinKing' & i'm glad (no more yucky hangovers), 'tho i'm no TeeTotaller (i wON'T miss pre-dinner powwows with Mom & sis --"my GiRLs"-- & a glass of wine! Who am i to screw up the perfect equation?)... But i've always questioned stereotypes eTc. (i just decided 2 stop drinking then did --no fanfare-- & haven't entered a liquor store since!) It's one thing to feel empowered when drunk/high; but when you empower YOURSELF sober, you see a whole new REALm of rewards that sweeten the deal! (Come to think of it, coming out to the WHOLE WORLD must take the SUPERpowers of a ~ hang on?!!~~) (suddenly she's Joe Pesci in ..Goodfellas...)......BuT even The God avoids Temptation! (UH-oh, maybe it gets mORE difficult, not less? Life-Long A.A. anyone?? AaagHHH!!?!!) See i'm still a neuRoTic mess!!! --jusT Less Mess/ MoRe MuscLe --from resisting sirens' lures into eLiXiRs (eViLs!)... If i find myself even cONTempLaTing entering a bar/ liquor store, like a robot programmed to KiLL i activate my arsenal of proven "deterrents" --& if one fails to cLinch iT, another kicks onscreen (= my MinD)! Luckily with tons of TiGHT reasons NoT 2 drink i haven't tapped out yet haha.!..(?)....2 the Teen who fears she needs the stuff to survive & is powerless to quit eTc.: i uNDeRSTaND, as i had eXACTLy such thoughts! When I finally wondered HOW i'd become convinced i needed ALCOHOL to fully function --when i kNEW the opposite was true-- i had to SNAP OUT OF IT asap! If you can get to ThaT decision (eg. by ruthlessly researching its SCARiNESS / hanging around drunk people when sober / eTc...) you're already ALMOST THERE, daRLing: Once you take that 1st plunge + acT on it, & discover it doesn't acTuaLLY HURT like you expected --but dOES take nerves of steel-- the ReST is a comparative cinch.......Cuz by then, becoming a fearless warrior somehow seems conceivable!......(Right RoB?)........THANK U!!!!........XoXoXoXoXo....
