Even though the P.S. is mentioned, you know, as a P.S. and all, why don't we get it out of the way... The July 7 LivePhilly show be canceled. You can check out their MySpace page for more details, but the bottom line is it's off, party people! We were looking forward to playing Love Park again, but hey - things happen. Anyway, stay tuned and we'll post some new shows shortly.
That being said, let's get on to the movie news of the week: Transformers comes out tomorrow! We've done a few little things to celebrate:
1. Hopefully by now, you've noticed our main pic was taken from our most recent gig on Cybertron. Well, either that or just some clever editing in picture programs. Who knows which one it really is?
2. As promised, we took down a song and added 'We Funk It' - which is our jawn from the 2004 album 'Dollar Major' with our interpretation of the Transformers theme. If you're not listening to it right now... shouldn't you?
3. Don't forget about the link right here to check out our video for 'We Funk it' on YouTube. We admit: it's no 'guy in Dora the Explorer custome dances to Chicken Noodle Soup', but it ain't bad either. Plus, you get to see me transform into my Transformer alter ego: a portable record player. And one of us transforms into a large can of Malt Liquor. Anyway, here it is... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qnOojZ9D8Q
The only thing we're a little bummed out as a band is unlike the final Star Wars flick in 2005, we can't celebrate the release of the movie with a remix album. In 2005 we commemorated the final Star Wars film with 'Order 66' a nine-song record with Star Wars remixes of tracks of ours. Well, with the transformers, there's.... well, one song really. Unless you count that one 'You got the Touch' that Mark Wahlberg sang in the studio in Boogie Nights. But still, that's not much of a remix album. So you'll have to settle for this and like it, really. We'll catch you at the theater... hopefully rockin' your Optimus Prime voice-changer helmet!
