Hello again everyone

Well, hasn't October been eventful?

Flowers For Lily have just wrapped up the last shows for 09, and the month can only be described as turbulently dreamy.

The recording with Jeff Lovejoy continues piece by piece, it's slow going due to everybody's schedules and the fact we've not been able to focus just on recording, but also on day jobs, university, shows and more. Nonetheless it continues forward and will continue to do so.

On the 16th we had the honoured privilege of playing a show at the Miami Shark Bar with TheArt - they deigned to stop by and headline for us while touring Australia with Marylin Manson. Azaria, KJ, Jak and Steven are all wonderful people, and the power of their rock is truly amazing - and Chippy the legendary sound man made it more than a night to remember.
We were all blown away by the talent of those four individuals who seem to just burn for their (excuse the pun) art.
Keep an eye out for them; they're bound to come out with something very special in the future.
So that was a pure and wonderful highlight of our month.

We've had a few high moments like that this year. First there was the Big Day Out. Then we supported Sydonia, another frightenly beautiful, talented and powerful outfit worthy of endless praise.
When I found out they were coming, I had a vinyl poster printed  - to promote the show - and it's still on my wall.
Then we got to meet and (continue to) record with Jeff Lovejoy, whose name to many is legendary. And last but certainly not least, we met and supported TheArt.
So we've had an interesting year, and of course it's had it's ups and downs, some hard times, (a lot of hard times) but it's the ups that keep you going; not the downs!

And most recent was our Halloween weekend.

Regardless of fatigue or delerium, (from the previous nights' Halloween party) we played on and held tight at the Hard Rock Cafe Halloween show. If the crowd was anything to go by, we did alright. The other performers on stage that night were The City Shake-Up, complete with Ghostbusters outfits and theme music to push them into their set, and Hazel Eyes the Devil, an acoustic act who, if you're local to the Gold Coast, keep your ears to the ground, find out when the next show is, and go watch. Well worth it.

Thank you to everyone who turned out to the last show of October and possibly 2009.

You are all immensely loved and appreciated.

Flowers For Lily will be focused on their recording as much as humanly possible throughout the rest of 2009, but don't relax too much - you never know when they'll pop up again!

Stay tuned, and never forget that you are all loved.
