Hey there,
Well, I am back in the saddle again, trying to figure out my next moves
now that the record is done and out there. Strangely enough being back
in the saddle really means being back "out" of the saddle. So, to
clarify, I am officially back in being back out of the saddle. Is that
confusing? First, a thousand thank you's for everyone who came out to
the release shows, for buying the record, for giving this project legs,
for the words of encouragement, it has boosted my spirit when I have
needed it most -- I am much obliged. Now that monsoon season is over in
Brooklyn, the summer days have been glorious. Although I still need a
new pair of flip flops, these black leather engineer boots just don't
let the air in. My feet have no idea it is actually summer, they are
still as pale as a morning in February. That's right folks, get the
latest updates on Jason's feet
here! ok, enough of that. Recently, I've had the opportunity to play some great shows. I had a chance to play
The Saint in
Asbury Park, NJ, which was a thrill. The inside of the venue is covered
in signed posters of everyone who has ever played the room -- it was
fun roaming around looking at them all. I also had a chance to play
Bodles Opera House in Chester, NY with the very talented
Amber Rubarth.
Bodles was like one of those places you dream about, a place that you
are so happy exists. Just amazing, you have to go. Everyone was so
happy there, we received such a warm welcome, and the show was like
playing for a group of your closest friends. Plus we arrived on the
early side and got a chance to check out the downtown area and got some
farm fresh ice cream. Butter Pecan .....mmmmm. Now that the record is
out, I am planning to get out there more, stray farther from the nest.
I am aching to get on the road, hopefully hitting the West Coast, the
Midwest and farther South. If anyone out there had any help they could
extend, I'd be forever grateful. There's always so much to try to do.
Later this month is my birthday, I'll be 28. I'm getting up there for
sure -- but it feels good. How come there is no such thing as a Summer
Chicken? How come it only starts with Spring Chicken? People say they
are no longer a Spring Chicken, but they skip a whole season in there.
I am feeling more like a Spring Chicken (if there were such a thing as
a Summer Chicken). I don't feel like Fall Chicken starts until maybe
you hit 40. I haven't thought too much about it. I just haven't put
the time in.
Your friend, and mine
Jason
