On September 11, 2009, by default of being Peter James’ co-author, I was invited to conduct an overnight paranormal investigation of Alcatraz; in the same footstep locations of James’ famed “Scariest Places on Earth” & “Sightings” network televised investigations.  This select team of various paranormal researches was led by famed televised EVP specialists, Mark and Debbie Constantino.  Among the professionals involved were, Thomas Durant, Todd Wolfe, Scott Gruenwald, Terry Campbell, Mike Brody, Stacey Jones Ghost Cop, Dave Harvey, Tara Bohren, 3AM Paranormal team members, APRA team members, members of API and members of Ghost TV Blogs.  Essentially, that night, ‘the Rock’ was taken over by a concise select unified team of paranormal professionals.  And, the night was not short on paranormal activity!

Peter James' co-author, Gian Temperilli, wife Shirley,
with Travel Channel EVP specialists, Mark and Debbie Constantino.

Upon arrival, the paranormal investigative teams began to familiarize themselves with various historic paranormal landmark locations; and set up technical equipment throughout the island.  What happened during the rest of the evening was greatly unexpected; even by seasoned park rangers.  A fast moving fog quickly began enveloping the entire island and covering sight of the San Francisco city lights.  45+ mph gale force winds and pounding rain immediately blanketed the entire exterior.  If that weren’t enough, cannon blasts of thunder and bright flashes of lightning echoed throughout and shook the cell blocks, hospital and dinning areas. -- Talk about a full Scooby Doo experience!  I mean just look at the images of the 9/11 half mast flag and lighthouse in the windy fog...  Scooby - Dooby - Doo!!

So, what kind of paranormal evidence can be gathered during all theses climate events?  The answer -- ALL KINDS!!  The strong weather front provided, quite enexpectedly, long moments of an eerie calm.  The results were so quiet in between the wicked weather, that it became the perfect basis for paranormal investigations.  The monitoring of opening and slamming of doors during the harsh weather only continued when the environment was still.  EVPs captured could easily be distinguished and classified in the periods of silence.

Below is a personal video of three attendees that generated a response from an opening and closing door in calm weather.  Later, a wide barred cell type door did the same hours later in the same area.  Mark and Debbie Constantino are present for this particular latent event in the second video segment.  A shack-hack devise later revealed the cause of the door slams and pulls.  When asked why the particular entity couldn’t open the latched door that violently pulled and slammed on command, the reply several times was, “keys.”  The name " Chris Ellis” was reiterated over the course of the session investigations.  When asking the presence to confirm the specified name given, the reply was, “yes”; on each occasion.

****  KITCHEN VIDEO POSTED SOON  ****

Now, a personally fun part.  As co-author and editor of Peter James’ manuscript, it is always rewarding to visit the very places that he gained global fame in documented televised investigations.  In video offered on the homepage of this myspace, Peter James utilizes his psychic abilities to reveal insight into one of the greatest tragedies of Alcatraz prison in an episode of, “Scariest Places on Earth.”  On May 2nd 1946, what is known as the “Blast-Out” led to the takeover of the main cell houses by inmates; which sadly, led to the deaths and serious injuries of several guards.  Contained within the homepage “Scariest Places on Earth” video, Peter James visits a permanently sealed utility corridor behind ‘C’ Block that is closed off to the public and investigators to this day.  James quickly reveals the impressions of both inmates and guards that died tragically in the historic location.

The images and audio samples below are taken IN the functionally dangerous utility corridor behind ‘C’ Block; under strict supervision.  Luckily, a park ranger in attendance had overseen Peter James’ original studio permitted investigation in the mid ‘90s.  This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.  No exceptions!!

Note:  The inmates were finally sequestered and forced back with intense fortified gunfire to the end of the precarious corridor against a final impenetrable cinder block wall.  Guards and military support began firing blindly into the corridor with orders to kill every last prisoner.  If you look closely, you can see the sporadic bullet hits over my head on the same cinder block wall.

Gian Temperilli conducting EVP session at utility corridor end.

Note:  This image is captured from a distance due to the unstable

walking plank below and under strict supervision.  Though, note

the following enhanced photo of the bullet hits in the cinder block

wall among the misty orbs. -- Clearly visible in person.

from the gunfight with Alcatraz prisoners.

The following image is of Mark & Debbie Constantino conducting a co-EVP session in the same utility corridor location. – With phenomenal on the spot voice recognition regarding 'someone' in our session attendance.  For the slim chance that we were granted limited access to the utility corridor area, I had previously researched the names of the inmates, their remaining spouses and relatives.  Moreover, great lengths were taken to research words of threats to junior guards, locations of lethal wounds and instances of demands inmates had of the captive personnel.  These specifics are referred to in the provided EVP sessions.  Audio below...

**INTERESTING UNTOLD ALCATRAZ STORY  **

Upon surfacing from the C Block utility corridor, the leading park ranger began to reluctantly and quietly regale me with a story told by one of the visiting guards involved in the 1946 gunfight a few years earlier.  On the utility corridor door was, what seemingly resembled a ‘drill hole’, right off center of the middle.  He continued that the guards were fairly convinced that they had killed the huddled inmates at the far end of the corridor; yet, all waited over an hour to make sure each was confirmed dead.  The former guard told the park ranger that upon the moment of beginning to open the door for final inspection, a single bullet ‘shot’ through the door at them.  The guards and military once again began firing into the corridor; and, storming in this time.

They discovered the lone gunner propped up in the beginning stages of rigor mortis; which meant, that he had already passed with the others earlier; and ultimately, the latent gunshot was a nervous trigger pull reaction!  The visiting former guard further joked with the park ranger that they had “almost got shot by a dead man.”  The park ranger had not shared the story with even his fellow partner that was escorting us; who took it a step farther in curiosity.  The assisting park director examined the painted cinder block wall directly across from the door hole to reveal an approx. single ¼” rounded ding (complete with fracture side radiating fissures) on the wall.  It all checked out!  In this case, the dead men don’t just ‘tell’ tales, they can shoot you too...

TRAGEDY OF AN EXECUTED PRISON GUARD

In the “Unexplained Mysteries” video on the myspace homepage, Peter James ‘vibrationally’ senses the last moments of an executed prison guard, William Miller.  Miller was instrumental in thwarting the escape of the freed inmates by knowingly producing the wrong key to the exterior cell house exit door.  Escaped prisoners tortured the guard and finally executed him for doing so.  William Miller named inmate Joseph Cretzer as his shooter moments before dying.  ‘Below’ are EVPs taken directly outside the cell where Miller was held captive, beaten and executed...

Photo of actual cell where William Miller and other captive

guards were executed by prisoners.

THE DUNGEON BELOW ALCATRAZ

Yet another rare opportunity of the overnight stay on Alcatraz.. was the supervised tour of the Civil War era dungeon.  Before the main cell blocks were constructed, a fortified bunker and detaining structure existed with a surrounding moat.  Peter James investigated these same isolated cells in an episode on “Sightings” in the mid ‘90s.  In the particular segment, James accounts vivid details regarding the torture of inmates that were held in the dark recesses of the holding areas for weeks at a time.  ‘Below’ are images of the subterranean holding places with various dates and ‘day passing etches’ into the interior walls.  The group representation was staged by the directing park ranger before lights were completely turned out.  It was the darkest darkness we’d ever experienced.

**SO, IT’S EVIDENCE YOU WANT**

I have only begun to review pics captured on Alcatraz; and, was adding brightness to some dark shots.  ‘Below’ is an initial shot taken of the entry corridor to the prison hospital.  Note:  I snapped an overhead shot down the dark corridor as other team members were catching up to the top of the stairs to meet the rangers for a brief history of the wing before continuing forward.  NO ONE HAD PASSED THE RANGERS AT THE POINT OF THE ENTRY ARCH.  The first image is untouched.  The second pic is the same image with only brightness added.  Do you see a person at the end of the corridor hall with short legs and a long torso?  Again, no one had passed the guides to this point...

Actual untouched image of dark hall past rangers before group

reached this point.

Same photo of hospital hall with only brightness added.  Do you

see a figure at the end of the hall?  No one passed this point!

This image is an enlargement of the figure at the end of the

hall.

Note:  The torso is distorted and elongated; and, the

legs appear short in terms of body proportion.  As well,

notice the right arm can be seen between the camera and

right side white column.

**  TO SUM UP **

I encourage you to visit the sites of other researches that were in attendance for their documented evidence and personal encounters from the evening of September 11th 2009 regarding Alcatraz.  We were all given private cells to store our sleeping items and technical equipment; however, each separate dedicated crew member in attendance stayed up the entire night to take full advantage of this unique opportunity.  I am merely the co-author of the legendary psychic and paranormal researcher, Peter James; and, not a paranormal investigator.  However, I know the initial discovery of James’ documented paranormal activity on Alcatraz gave many among us the foundation for what was sought after on the overnight stay.

Every paranormal team professional before next day

departure for the mainland.

Every paranormal investigator in attendance would like to collectively thank Mark and Debbie Constantino for their extended invitation, coordination and access to an unforgettable overnight on Alcatraz.  And, as they say, “On to the next one...” [knuckle tap]

Note:  Due to content volume (and that I'm not that great with computers; and the uncontrolled crazy font sizes say it all:P) additional audio and video will be added soon. -- As well as, added compiled evidence from others involved in separate investigations that evening.  Hope you enjoy all future additions as well!

Simply....Amazing....Awesome job and report Gian. I remember Peter saying that outside of the QM, that alcatraz was probably the second most haunted place he had investigated, with over a hundred different entities. Amazing and spookey place.

That is really really cool,  my dad was going to visit Alcatraz on one of the late evening tours (during a trip my parents were supposed to take) anyway, he is  a complete "skeptic" when it comes to paranormal, but he knows that I am not, and he was going to try to take some recordings for me, knowing I would have loved to do research there.   I hope someday to get to visit myself!  And I hope someday he still goes out there.

Great experience you have shared :)
