Hey everyone,

With summer beginning to wind down, it won't be long before we're back in the recording studio pumping out awesome new tracks and arrangements for our 10th album.  We're also looking forward to welcoming Brown's Class of 2011 to College Hill at their convocation during the first week of class.  It's going to be awesome.  Those first few weeks of class will also include getting new members.  If you're interested in becoming a Derby, keep your eyes peeled around campus this September for information on auditions, or if you just are too excited to wait that long, send us a message.

But there's more news.  We always receive fun messages and comments from all of you, asking us to tell you if we ever plan on performing in Texas, France, Australia, etc.  Well, I'm pleased to announce that the location of our next tour will (likely, but not yet definitely) be to Washington, DC.  Why is that not a definite location? Well, we don't know if we're going to be able to perform enough down there yet.  And we love performing.  So convince us to turn the status of a DC Tour from a "Maybe..." to a "YESS!!!!111one" by letting us know of places that may want to hire us or groups that might want to jam with us.  Want us to teach an a cappella workshop at your high school?  Sing at your seaport? Croon at your lagoon?  Perform some hits-a your bar mitzvah (okay, that's a stretch...)?  Contact me at ibm@brownderbies.com to hire us for your event or to bring us to your school.

As an added bonus, if we do end up performing near you because of an e-mail you sent us, we'll give you a signed Brown Derbies photo!  Neat!

Keep enjoying the music!

P.S. For those of you who are curious about Kent's comedy competition that we asked you to vote on in our last blogs, he was one of three entrants who made it to the finals, and wound up coming in second place!  Thanks for all of your support.

Hey Guys

I am in the US Coast Guard in Ocean CIty,MD which is 2.5 hours away from DC. Right next to our station is a waterside park and concert stage. There are a bunch of guys at the station that are in to A cappela. I can contact the town of ocean city and see if they would have you guys play. One of the guys I am stationed with started HIGHERGROUND from Appalachian St Univ. in N. Carolina.
