With the help of a former art gallery manager (from Mind Puddles) and an entrepreneur art enthusiast, Galleria Lazzara art gallery first opened its doors October 30, 2008. The first exhibit was of the nationally acclaimed artwork of FOOX and was filmed by an A&E film crew for a TV series. Since then, GL has hosted new exhibit's every month, with each exhibit opening the second Thursday of each month. These opening are not only the first look at the new exhibition but also a chance to meet the artists featured in the exhibit as well as a great way to mingle with other art lovers. We host many types of exhibits from group exhibits to solo shows with each month having it's own specific theme of work. The gallery isn't exclusive to only known artists with exposure in the art world but many new artists who have had their first art show ever with GL! From new young artists to experienced well-known artists, GL is designed to cater to any well-deserving local, national, and international artist.
    Galleria Lazzara has been featured in Fox News, Red Pub Magazine, PaperCity, Prime Living Magazine, the Houston Chronicle, ModernHouston.net, Skirt! Magazine and many local art newsletters.
    The gallery is located in a seemingly unfamiliar part of Houston, the northern side of the Memorial area just minutes away from the Houston Galleria. This art gallery has expanded the Houston art scene path, it has suffered no lack of patrons reaching upwards of 250 people attending it’s exhibits! GL is located in a business center surrounding a large parking area, so you never have to worry about where you can park and if you will get towed. The gallery is approximately 2,800 square feet. The main room is divided by a 2,000 pound, 30 foot by 6 foot expanded metal hanging wall, leaving a large open space and the bar area. There is a Gray Room for smaller artwork and the front office holds art pieces from previous exhibitions.  The gallery is capable of holding many private and public events, and can work with your individual needs to create the perfect party and the right price to go with it. GL can also help with all sorts of event planning including catering, valet parking, photographer, bartender, and much more.
    The Across the Street gallery features work of artist living out of the Houston area or those artists who have chosen to have their art stored to be viewed.  The company has many prestigious clients visiting; you may want to ask for a visit during Galleria Lazzara’s business hours or on opening nights.
