I see the devil every day And what he took away I see the void where you once lay Before my world was grey
I remember eyes of green Through vision bleeding red I remember love and hate And wishing you were dead
I remember waking up And hating that I could My misanthropic attitude Was just misunderstood
It was never them, the world at large I hated and despised It was you alone and nothing more Who hid behind my eyes
I awoke to a deadened heart Murdered in the night The red replaced with duller tones The green repainted white
I climbed out of my first good sleep Since long before the blur I stepped up to the looking glass The glass where once you were
I see the devil in this mask And the heart he stripped away I tell myself it's better now That red has turned to grey
