It feels good to be home, amongst my childhood things. My parents found an Evangeline wall scroll an old boyfriend bought me years ago, and it's just sittin' on my vanity. The new house is fine- though I am sure I'll feel at ease no matter where they live. Last night's sedar went pretty well. It shocked my dad that I took the role of leader, however. To me, it was given- I've been teaching sunday school for 2 years now, and am the only one who still goes to temple. Regardless, the whole thing took something like 2 hours, including dinner, and was over by 9 (by protest of an antsy brother). Short and sweet. We didn't even sing Dianuh, but the highlight of the whole thing was how my niece read the four questions (and even one of them in hebrew!). I was so proud of her- she helped us cook the dinner, decorated a matzah box for us, and practiced all afternoon with me to make sure she got the words right. Really, she is such a smart little person.

It's an odd thing how I act/feel coming home every three months. The behavior is the same as when I was in college (as if I still am in college). For the short week-maybe 2- I sleep in, gossip with my mom for hours, but more importantly is the show-and-tell that seems to happen. It's the whole "I did this while I was away!" thing- my paintings, what
shows I've been in, who seen my work, and now- how close am I to making
this a career. This is the time where I update my website/blog with the work I've done in the past three months. So- this is what I've done in the past three months:

This painting showed at the femme fest show for a month. The show was great- my painting was considered one of the best (though controversial. The board members were not to friendly on the lesbian angle).

I'm surprised this painting didn't sell. This was featured at the BSI show, which is now half up and half at my house. There might be a potential buyer for it, if not, it'll be a dry run sell on e-bay. For a while I've been wanting to try e-bay out, and I think this particular piece will do well.

Finally! Finally it's finished. My Uncle has been waiting for years for me to paint him something. I honestly started it a week before Hanukkah, thinking it'll be done in time. Well, the painting itself is as big as I am ( it's 4x2 so I have a foot to spare) which is the biggest piece I've worked on so far. So, yeah it took me a little longer then expected.

Jason from BSI invited me to be part of free comic book day. He's offering me a table, which is great (seeing that I do not have to pay a table fee). That'll be on May 2nd. So now apart from everything else that I must do in the next two weeks, getting postcards and posters ready for sale must be added in. Hmm- I hope to get everything done my the 24th!
