Screamo is not the most complicated music to make if you dont want to go all technical, but you need at least a background / history or a feeling for it. Tristan Tzara is the proof of this. They were ("were" because the band split up years ago) one of the best screamo / emo violence bands that I ever heard. It is even quite possible that these Germans created my all-time favourite emo violence band, no matter what great bands they started after the demise of Tristan Tzara. Their self titled and self released CD that is now sold out is a goozebumpfest from start to finish. This new 7" with unreleased recordings because they quit the band is no different. Its in the same line and not even better or worse. Just some pure manic emo violence like they did before. I talked to them about this release some summers ago and I know that they were more satisfied with the structure of the songs. Some may say that the band has put too much nice riffs after one another instead of making solid "songs". I say that Tristan Tzara should live up to their band name and just do what they think is good. Every part of every song is totally balanced out. A female singer that makes all her male companions bite the dust. Intricate little riffs between very melodic repetitions of great parts that get stuck in your mind forever. One of the coolest things about this emo violence is that there is a certain desperate urge, a rapid drive that makes you totally freak out. Tristan Tzara made the most beautiful angry music ever. The artwork is based on one of the dada-works from the artist Tzara.
