Current mood:  blissful
Category: Music

On April 1, 2003 Bailey Records released two new CDs through CDBaby.com and eventually digital distribution such as iTunes, eMusic.com, etc.  I served as Executive Producer (fancy title meaning I approved the final content and design) on both projects.  Friend and former business partner Adam Greenawalt served as co-producer and engineer while James Prostovich – one of my favorite artists – served as illustrator and graphic designer on both.
Stratos: Autumnal Slumber (April 1, 2003 / Bailey Records)
Autumnal Slumber was meant to be my “shining moment” – my White Album, my Vitalogy, my Achtung Baby!  After numerous short-run releases through mp3.com and appearances on several compilation discs, I thought it was time to do an official, highly-publicized, release.  Compiling music I’d written for two independent films that never happened and adding new tracks to tie it all together, Autumnal Slumber was going to be the album I sold while on tour – making me fortune and fame.  Instead, Autumnal Slumber brought me more work and was quickly overshadowed by my 2004 release – CyberNet Official Roleplaying Soundtrack (May 11, 2004 / Bailey Records).

Commercially speaking, Autumnal Slumber has sold really well over the years and has earned me much recognition however I still feel it never got its proper due.
Stand out moments related to Autumnal Slumber:
* Columbus radio airplay on RadioU (88.7FM)
*

Radio airplay on Whip of Cords
*
The birth of The Darkrider mythology (based on an illustration by James Prostovich that I later used on the CyberNet soundtrack project)
*
The Masters of the Universe Tour featuring Stratos and the Stereoflowers plus special guests such as college buddy Eric George

Various Artists: Music For Martha – Benefit Album (April 1, 2003 / Bailey Records)
The goal of the Music For Martha benefit album was to help raise money and awareness for a charitable arm of the Grove City Vineyard Christian Fellowship.  Martha Ministries was dedicated to helping out those in need whether it is with groceries, clothing, emergency repairs, etc.  At the time, I was active with Martha Ministries and so I wanted to give something back.  I decided to put out and all point bulletin looking for recording artists to appear on an album that would raise funds for Martha Ministries.  Bands from Chicago, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, and Columbus answered our call.  We managed to put together a very eclectic album that ranges from acoustic singer/songwriter music to punk, dance, and a little of everything else.
Stand out moments related to Music For Martha – Benefit Album:
Raising nearly $1000.00 to date for Martha Ministries
Fantastic, exclusive songs by Jennifer Greenawalt, Slow To Speak, and many others including several members of the Grove City Vineyard and my college buddy Eric George (All Things Considered)
