It was a great thrill and honor to meet you and be your guests at the V.I.P.
reception on Sunday. It was a special treat to be at the annual "Tunes for
Tots" concert, last year's of which made the Rothschild/Kendrick donation
possible. My students still can't believe that I attended a rock concert!  

I'm not sure how it has worked in the past, but I wanted the band and
management to get and up close and personal look at someone whose students are
directly benefiting from the WP foundation generosity.  The new instruments
have enabled us to increase our orchestra enrollment, while the Music Tech lab
has taken our students into the 21st century with regard to music instruction.
Indeed, I have an overflow of students using the lab before school begins!  
Already we have done some printed music and simple song projects, complete with
CD copies. The students are composing/arranging exercises that the ensemble
performs in class.  And the CDs have been a hit with parents at home.

You might be interested to know that I was somewhat of a celebrity in my area
of the Tabernacle Sunday evening.  As Anne and I were seated for the hour
preceding the concert, I struck up conversations with a number of audience
members who enjoyed hearing about my experience with the recent WP donation.  
They told their friends, most of whom came over to hear the story yet again. I
must say, WP has a great fan base.  I just wish more rock bands would support
music in the schools as WP does.

Thanks again for the wonderful evening and for the support you provide our
music students.  You have definitely made an impact with our students here at
Rothschild/Kendrick. Rock on, Widespread Panic!
