Over a foot of fresh snow in the past 48 hours, and over two feet since last weekend, will enable Grand Targhee Resort to open all lifts and 100% of its terrain on Friday, December 12 with powder and packed powder conditions. While many Idaho and regional resorts continue to wait for some help from Mother Nature, guests at Grand Targhee will be skiing and riding all 2400 acres this week.

"We are fortunate to have the most open terrain in the northern rockies, and the second largest amount of terrain currently open in the US" said John Urdi, Director of Marketing and Sales. "Our 2400 acres of groomed, glade and powder skiing and riding offer something for everyone and we are looking forward to a busy weekend."

To help ease the snow suffering of those who invested in season passes or day tickets elsewhere, Grand Targhee Resort is offering a $10 discount on a full day adult lift ticket to anyone who shows a 2008-09 season pass or day lift ticket from any resort. A five dollar discount will be applied to Junior and Senior full day passes, and the offer is good through Wednesday, December 24, 2008. With all terrain open, Grand Targhee lift ticket prices will resume normal in-season pricing at $69 for an adult and $39 for juniors and seniors. Skiers and riders have until December 15, 2008 to purchase the Powder 8 and Powder 6 Pack cards, allowing guests to purchase day lift tickets at as much as $20 off.

A ski and telemark equipment demo will be available throughout the weekend, allowing guests to test the latest gear on our slopes. Our Alpine Clinic and Women's Alpine Clinic will make good use of the entire mountain, while a Skate Ski Clinic and the "Targhee Tune Up" Nordic Race will kick off the Nordic season on our excellent network of Nordic trails.
