Soo...  a few friends have recently asked me what "B-more" or "B-more Club" is as I often put it on fliers alongside the other styles that I drop while playing out.  This mix is dedicated to those poor, confused individuals.

A brief lesson (as far as I understand things): B-more stands for Baltimore as it was invented here in the early 90's by DJs Scottie B, Frank Ski, and Big Tony, et al.  It is a derivative of "hip-house," and combines club beats with chopped up samples from a wide range of sources.  B-more typically incorporates two distinctive beats: the break from "Sing Sing" by Gaz and the break from "Think" by Lyn Collins (which was also sampled in "It Takes Two" by Rob Base, the best known "hip-house" song).  I'm no poet so I'm not going to try to describe how these sound.

The style was made popular internationally in the past 5 years by DJs like Diplo, Low Budget, Technics, Tittsworth, Debonair Samir and Aaron LaCrate (who is apparently a douche and just steals beats from other DJs).

So, here's some of my favorite B-more tracks mixed up with a bunch of other hot shit.  Do enjoy yourself.

Featured: Kanye West. Biggie. Eric B. & Rakim. Missy Elliott. Justice. Chromeo. Amanda Blank. The Rapture. Flagrant Fowl. Stevie Wonder. Scottie B. The Four Tops. Dee-Lite. Skream. Hollertronix. Diplo. 2 Hype Brothers and a Dog. Pase Rock. M.I.A. Lil Mama. Starkey. The Black Ghosts and a ton of Eli Eskobar edits.

hunh. well. well, well, well...while this is not Mike On Wax in the Empty-Mike's-Brain-Of-Everything-Non-Music-Related (whereupon only thoughts about sex, charlie horses and the ecstasy of correcting a loved one's grammar fall out) -Then-Jam-A-Bullhorn-In-His-Ear-And-Hear-What-Comes-Out kind of way that the last three podcasts were, i have come to realize that Podcast Four(4) IS most certainly representative of your personality & nature in a more all-encompasing kind of way, in that, at first i didn't think i liked it very much at all, but after giving it a proper chance (despite everything inside me screaming "JUDGE NOW, EVALUATE LATER!") it really grew on me - much like fuzzy mold, which is initially off-putting but after time you start to wonder if it is as soft as it looks - and which eventually lead me to delight in the discovery that underneath a seemingly harmless and easily digestable presentation, there lies some truely sic(k) shit.

in summary, you and podcast four have made my life better.
SO BULLY FOR YOU...!!!
