FREEDOM'S FALLEN
Over there ... over there, In the field where poppies grow,
All should be aware,
‘Tis where lays fellow soldiers’ sorrow.
Young and bold, full of life,
Dreams taken away too soon,
Lost in battle strife,
Under bright rays of sun and beneath glowing beams of moon.
Freedom’s price for victory,
Glory’s claim for immortality,
An all too common toll, century to century,
Burden’s beast, man’s immorality.
Freedom’s fallen is remembered on this day.
Warriors called to arms, willing to pay
The ultimate sacrifice ... play the greatest role;
Giving one’s life to save a nation’s soul.
