Hello!!
Well you've come to our website and so you're either actively looking for a little something extra or our myspace site is blocked on your computer. (I've also posted this on myspace so that part doesn't make sense anymore, sorry Pete! -Sebby) Either way, you deserve a treat!! So firstly I'd like to complement you on your good looks and conviviality today. Well done, you've really pulled yourself together! I know, I can hear you now, "what's this platitude about, what do you want from me?!?" and "clearly you can't see me and even if you could, I'd question what you're saying". Well, dear reader, via the magical powers of the computer age, misinformation and typing we at Zatopek-central have the powers to view your very souls and frankly we're cheering for you!!
Anyway, as news must...here it is:
We had a great time in the USA earlier this summer and would like to thank everyone involved at the Insubordination Festival, the Deep Sleep in Philadelphia and all the New Yorkers who made our sojourn such a delight. It was distinct pleasure to play with some brilliant bands, eat a truck load of bagels and burgers, meet a great many great folk and catch up with plenty of old friends too!! Thanks to everyone who put us on, put us up and put up with us and a grand "huzzah!" and hi-fives all who came to the shows!! Don't forget to check out some of the photos we've posted, should you be visually minded or intrigued.
Next up, back and in-continent (so to speak), with the marvellous assistance of Monster Zero Inc, we're planning a European tour for October 2008 with the Copyrights (from Carbondale, Illinois, USA). Many of the dates are now confirmed and available for your perusal on the shows page...but in brief, if you're in Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, Holland and even England, we hope to have a date with you!
Until then, it's all about the sell, sell, sell!! There's a new Groovie Ghoulies tribute album out now on Kamikaze Records, which contributed a cover of Graceland to, and of course we have the usual CD's, 7" vinyl's, T-shirts and other stuff. You can get them direct from us on the Zatopeks webstore from Household Name Records and in the US, from Whoa Oh Records or It's Alive Records. We also now have t-shirts for sale through Monona Merch, which is Ben Weasel's webstore. That's the only place you can get this design online, so go check it out.
