  This past Saturday in Indio, CA, our friends at Anthem Magazine—that long running bastion of all things adult and contemporary, debauched and freewheelin’—threw (for the fifth year in a row) a mega house party during the 2009 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival.  Apart from my harsh o’clock 8:30AM arrival time, (followed by mid-day sunburn and eventual evening heatstroke), it was by all accounts the best adjacent event of the weekend. This year, Anthem kindly condensed two days of reveling into one, making it possible for all the hipsters and VIPs to get in, get grimy, and get going to the next destination before nightfall.  With help from Incase and a host of great staffers and other sponsors, from 11AM to 8PM, a thousand funsters ran around McNaughton Ranch in bikinis and short-shorts like a scene from Bosch’s triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights.
