A closeup look at The Idol Experience

Last week, I introduced you to The Idol Experience, the new attraction at Disney World in Florida.
This week, Randy Flaum, assistant managing editor and visuals editor
at The York Dispatch, visited the attraction. Here’s his blog on the
experience:
“Remember this name: Aaron Kelly.
“The 15-year-old Tennessean won the right to get to the front of the
line during any of the 2010 American Idol auditions by winning the
final contest of the day on Wednesday at Disney World’s American Idol
Experience.
“The Idol feature opened recently at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in
Florida. Each day there is a series of competitions with pre-auditioned
singers taking part. The fun part is that the audience members – like
my wife, granddaughter and me — get to vote for the winner.
“At the end, each of the day’s winners face off for the free pass to the front of the line at any of next season’s auditions.
“And, yes, the audience gets to vote at the final competition, too.
“While Kelly might be a face to look for next Idol season, it is
worth pointing out that the runner-up was an entertainer, a
ventriloquist from Lancaster. Michael Minor stood at mid-stage with
Kelly as they announced the winner on Wednesday.”
