The middle of this country is...
beautiful, frail, struggling, generous, warm, cold, torn, alive, vivid, outrageous, asleep, pressed, open, curious, fucked, fixed, and free, strange, stagnant, and serene, red, white, black and blue, constantly coming and going all at once. lots of corn. and high fructose corn syrup.
hospitality award: fort collins, colorado tied with chicago, illinois. endless thanks to alana, dave, and sara, and danielle, jim, and casandra. felt like home.
madness/wildness/pure rock and roll/enchanting women at coffee shops/record store/mayor of shot town award: O'Leavers Pub and it's band of merry men, Omaha, NE.
Some shows were up, some shows were down, some were right in the middle. We met lots of people. I wondered how some could be so similar and some could be so different.
First of two NYC shows tonight, then up and down the east coast.
