The first tune I uploaded, "Armchair Activist" was recorded back around 1984/5 at Boogie Hotel Studios in Port Jefferson Long Island. It was part of a project to raise money to fight the Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant. My foray into politics and protest songs.
The tune is about people who sit back and complain about the way things are, but yet don't actually do anything about them. I got the idea from the "armchair quarterback" syndrome.
We got some airplay on WBAB radio out on Long Island - this recording was actually made off-air onto a cassette deck and transferred to mp3. That accounts for the poor audio quality.
It's not a bad song, IMO, but the guitar solos are too long and too numerous. Back then I held the opinion that lyrics were things that were used to fill the space in between guitar solos. Maybe one of these days I'll re-record the song and fix that.
