Greetings! Just sending a little note this Friday afternoon to tell you about some upcoming shows and the fact that my cover of "From Monday On" (from the recent album href=http://mariemacgillis.com/themodelmillionaires/>"Sittin' in the
Catbird Seat") was featured on the Russel Davies show on the BBC Radio 2 last Sunday the 6th. You can listen to it < a href=http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/davies/playlist.shtml>here probably until Sunday the 13th after that you might have to search for it in the archives. It's pretty funny because I guess saying mean things about everyone is his shtick. He said my music was "too loud and cacophonic" which is pretty nice compared to what he said about everyone else! Besides, loud cacophonies are EXACTLY what I'm shooting for! ha! I'm not going for authenticity but if I were going to try to be just like Paul Whiteman and Bix Beiderbecke I would try my best to play loud. Their recordings may sound quiet to Russel Davies but I would bet any amount of money that if you heard it live back in the day live it was LOUD!! Loud enough to play over any riverboat noise! ha!
