Okay, so here is the official "We Need a Guitarist" Blog. Read on, and if you fit the requirements, hit us up on myspace or e-mail us at rosematterrock@hotmail.com and we can chat!
1. 18-25 years of age. If you're 40, this probably isn't the band for you.
2. Not Be Poor. Being in a touring band is expensive, so you need to not be a deadbeat and have money for expenses on the road, as well as other things that come up. We all struggle to make ends meet, but we just hope you can hold a job and are at least trying. We all share in the burden of making Rosematter not be broke, and you'll have to help with that, otherwise we'd just be giving you a free ride. If you're on foodstamps and welfare, we're probably not the band for you.
3. Good Gear. If you play a Marshall MG Stack with a Squire, this isn't the band for you. If you play a Bogner Shiva with an Orange 4x12 with vintage 30s, you most likely get what we're talking about here. If you play a DW kit, well sorry, we're looking for a guitar player!
4. Must live near York, Pa, or have a teleporter. We practice in York, Pa, and play tons and tons of regional shows on the weekends and occasionally on weeknights within 300 miles of York PA. Obviously, you're going to have to live close to here to make this work for you. If you're rich enough to own a private jet though, we'll talk.
5. Must be good at guitar. We are looking for a 3rd guitar player, so obviously we're not desperate for anyone who can play a few power chords. We need someone that can come in and be 100% comfortable playing whatever is needed. We're not looking for Steve Vai, but if you think Tom Delonge is a God at guitar and you don't understand how to play scales without your fingers hurting, this probably isn't the band for you.
6. Must have a sense of humor and be a decent person. I think the only thing Rosematter does more than practice and play shows is make fun of each other and watching lame 90's sitcoms on youtube. We love being funny and having fun, so you should to! It's sad that we need to make this a requirement, but some people just dont get that making music is all about good times with good people!
7. Must enjoy some kind of music! If your favorite band is Culture Club, you have ever Korn CD ever pressed, and you don't understand why people enjoy A New Found Glory/Deathcab For Cutie/Insert some scene band in here, this probably isn't the band for you. We like pop punk, we like indie, we like 90's Alt, but most of all, we like good music and we like having an open mind about it.
I think that about covers it. So if you rock at guitar, love touring and playing shows, know the value of a dollar, and think Mitch Hedberg is amazing, please e-mail us or myspace us so we can get to know you more!
Love,
Rosematter
