Okay, as you can tell by the profile and everything we have going on on this myspace, we are a newly formed band who is currently looking for a singer to round out our band.

Before you ask about the demos on our site, the demos we have on our myspace were recorded with the help of a good friend of ours so people could get the full effect of the music we are trying to play, but he is not a member of the band.

As is stated in our bio, we are a serious band searching for an equally serious vocalist who is willing to step in and help complete our musical vision.  To give you a brief overview of the band, we are based on the PA/MD line near Baltimore/Harrisburg/York PA, and play rock/pop/indie music in the vein of Jimmy Eat World, The Starting Line, Say Anything, New Found Glory, Saves The Day, and so on.  You can easily take a listen to the demos we have on our myspace and get a very good understanding of what we're all about musically and what direction we want to go in.  We are looking for a complete vocalist who is into this style of music, and is going to take our band to the next level.  We are a serious band, we have tons of previous experience playing shows/touring/recording experience, and are planning on doing a lot more of all that.

If you are a solid vocalist and are seriously interested, here is what we are looking for:

1.  Must be a solid singer.  This is by far the most important part of being in this band.  Nothing else matters if you cannot sing well.  We want you to have a good sense of pitch, be able to sing harmonies with no issues (live and in a studio setting), and have a dynamic and solid voice all around.

2.  Be able to contribue to the writing process.  We are not looking for a robot.  You need to be able to write your own vocal melodies, lyrics, and whatever else it takes to be a full and equal member of the song-writing process.  Playing other instruments can also help, but we are really looking for someone who can at least write catchy vocal melodies and hooks with consistency.

3.  Be in the 18-27 year age range.  If you are under 18, please do not message us and say you're a very mature 14 year old.  Likewise, please don't message us and say you are a young looking 40.

4.  Must live in or around the York/Harrisburg/Baltimore area or be willing to relocate to that area.  All of us live in this area and we practice near York, PA, so obviously if you want to be in this band you're going to have to live in the area.  We're 100% ready to help the right member relocate, but this is a not a part time gig where you can live in another part of the country and make sporadtic visits.  We practice 3-4 times a week and anticipate playing as many shows as possible, so being here is obviously essential.

5.  No drugs/crazy people/liars/morons.  We are looking for decent, well-rounded individuals only please.  This is a serious band and we don't have time for any of that nonsense.

6.  Be financially stable.  Being in a band and putting music first in your life can be rough financially, but we really need someone who can pull their own weight and contribute to band expenses and manage to stay afloat.

I think that about covers everthing.  Just a reminder, this is a serious band for serious musicians.  Most of us have been in previous bands that have been signed to decent record labels with national distro, not just some hole-in-the-wall labels run out of a kid's basement.  We have professional quality gear, practice 3-4 times a week, and truly enjoy playing music and play shows.  We are hoping that whoever wants to sing for our band will feel the same way we do about music and about being in a band.  If you are interested, please either send us a message on our myspace (
www.myspace.com/newintownpa or e-mail us at newintownpa@gmail.com .

Thanks!

I'd love to do this! I'm probably moving around there soon anyway. Ha. I've been told by a lot of people I have a very good, strong voice. Buuuut, I'm only fourteen, so I'm out of the requirements. :(

I love singing. I can honestly say its my one true passion, I've sang for two bands in the past but neither made it out of the "high school" stage thing and im only 17. But good luck. You guys are great and I hope it you find the perfect person
