Here is some more detailed info about the music on this page:
1. Really Really Weird Remix-Done as part of a remix contest put on by a band called
The Simple Carnival. It represented a lot of work in that the stem tracks (the original material that the song was to be remixed from) were not all contiguous (cut to the same exact length). I spend the whole first four hours of the remix lining everything up. Also of note in this production is that, during recording, I had managed a long distance vintage gear by for
Chris Garges. Chris was gracious enough to let me use the
Telefunken v72 that he'd bought for a night before I shipped it to him. I tracked the melodica, bari sax and whistling through it. Thanks Chris!
I also utilized
Chris Mara's Analog Anywhere service. For a small fee, you can email a finished mix (or individual audio files) to Chris at his sweet studio,
Welcome To 1979, where he will run the digital files through his MCI mixing console and onto 1/4" tape.
Totally worth it. Thanks other Chris!
2.
43 to 44-Done as part of
The 20th, a project where contributors write, record, mix and master a song on the 20th of each month. 1/20/09 seemed like a good day to start. Final mix was done after
the Blue Ball and a few drinks. Not a way that I'd recommend working, but it turned out OK anyway.
