Nearly there guys, final weeks of the tour and what a life enhancing experience. Many artist have spoke about holiday camps some like them some hate them. Me I love em. Everyones happy, enjoying themselves. All I got to do is sing and perfrom. Life dosent get much better than this!. What have I learnt? definitely organise and manage your bookings and make sure as best u can there are no surprises. If I don't know something or unsure check and check again until I get an answer. Its been a learning gradient and I'm so grateful for the opportunity. Anyway plenty of time to reflect when the said task is completed! Right now my focus is on Prestatyn. Bank Holiday weekend its gonna be packed tonight. Also got to test Sanz's shoulder at air hockey. I understand the Sanz Majorettes have been hyping him up for this week. Now you know its not nice to expect miracles and I don't want my good mate depressed due to continuous beating and humiliation! Lol it will be a good week. I will try to savour and take it all in! Keep an eye out for the updates. Bank holiday traffic I'll be writing a lot whilst in the car.... if I'm not sleeping that is. Check in soon.Prestatyn show okish! the audience was a bit rowdy today. A few incidents with security rushing in made me a bit dubious. I usually do a meet and greet and sign some autographs but not today. Just a few that spoilt it for the rest tonight. I still feel the majority had a good time just a little too much drama for me tonight. All in all ok and the 1st time I didn't feel safe out amongst the masses. But the Blues were comendable. They made sure random people weren't in my face. Looking forward to blackpool. I think it gets like that when there are a load of people and alchohol! Sanz is mega tired and rested so no scores as yet. We definitely need a break. The travelling is taking its toll!
Blackpool was Brilliant really great night and fantastic audience. Lots of energy and lots of laughs. Couldn't ask for any more than that. I've really had a good time @ blackpool pontins .From the ents team to reception have welcomed us like stars and treated us the Same. Natalie , Baby Ben , Lovely Else theres lots more I'm old can't remember all the names! were a brilliant ents team. Lots of energy and the show they put on was awesome so much talent. I wish you the best and more guys you really made our short time pleasureable. Thanks! Our relaxing room was all due to Carrie on reception. Seriously without somewhere to relax and chill out where we can plug the dvd in have a tea and sleep I really wouldn't have the energy or positive mindset to go and deliever the performance. It would be a pleasure to visit you guys again.
Just want to say a big thankyou to Rhian coming down all the way from E.London and looked like she was having a whale of a time out of the dance floor. Its a humbling feeling when people travel from far and wide to come and see the show. Rachel, Anne Marie, Sarah Nadia chelsea Ky (thanks for staying an extra day to see me) Caroline , Mike and Rhian thankyou all for your support I am truly humbled and appreciative. Right Sanz's Majorettes Its been another great start........for me! with a victorious explosion of goals clocking up the 1st set of scores to 5 - 1 after the show energy was high so played another 2 games so scores sit at 6 - 2. So I'm ahead but everything can change in southport .
Southport show was fun as always. Great audience as most of the holiday season has been. I do find southport guys tend to be a lot more energetic they give so much vibe and really get into the journey into soul set. I was surprised by the ents team Tracey and Aaron as getting ready to sing the final song for the night and out rings Happy Birthday with a fantastic cake with my picture on it! I was so chuffed. That kind of thing never happens to me! Thank you southport blues for giving me the best start to a birthday ever. It was soooo funny!. Didn't manage to play any air hockey we were a little tired but did manage to show Blue Coat Emma how truly amazing I am on the air hockey table I think my skills of hand eye coordination left her a bit angry on air hockey never mind Aunty Em's! lol The last week will be at southport next sunday and the big challenge will be the battle of the sex's against blue coat guys and Blue coat girls. I have spoken to the guys and loosing is not an option! Tracey your going down! The lads have a master plan!
Right now I'm off to Brean Somerset. A little tired but its my Birthday so feeling good had lots of txt's from family and friends reminding me that I'm old and even had a video message via email I was well impressed with that!. Its a few hours to get from Southport to Brean so not sure if we will play anymore air hockey at the moment scores still stand @ 6 - 2 to me!! lol. Sorry Sanzettes! I'll check in after the show. Nearly there guys just the last 2 shows this week and final 1 next sunday for the tour. I've really had a great time. I love my job!
28th August ( Sorry I was sooo tired)
Brean show was ok audience was a bit slow getting started but once they picked up there was no stopping them. Another successful show.
Camber was great too dont want to keep saying I was tired so just giving an account of the show. You can probably tell Im knacked by the amount of text for the last 2 shows. Again it was fun. There was allot of energy at camber.
But to summarise the tour :- It was a learning gradient. Learning how to keep your strength and health up. Enduring the long journeys. Making sure you have plenty of rest. Planning ahead definitely helped for example I learned to fill up the car with petrol at Southport so we could get to brean and then home. As we were travelling through the night after brean I had to make sure there was plenty of fuel so we could just travel without stopping and take advantage of the empty roads. Drinking plenty of water and herbal tea. And making sure i didnt just eat junk food. Sounds obvious but when your travelling thats all thats available. Just things like that really. I even bought a microwave to carry around with us, as some of the venues didnt exactly give us the best room in the house!! so rather than waste energy arguing about it we became self sufficent. The worst thing you can have is Ill feeling before a show. It does affect your vibe and personality if your not happy about something. So i made sure that i did what was written on the can!! and provide a audience engaging vibrant performance.
I feel quite proud that that objective was achieved at each show. Wow! over 30 shows from july to September, 5 shows a week with over an hour of vocals what a marathon no wonder Im tired!! But for good reason. It was an honour to tour round Pontins this summer, and very grateful to the ents managers and director Mr Johnson for selecting me. The Blue coats really work hard i could moan and be miserable in my room if I wanted those guys cant!, they have a mega hard job of keeping up beat and happy no matter what happens in their lives. I have a new found respect for the Pontins Blues. Especially when they have to deal with difficult clients. They keep their composure all the time. You go guys the silent heroes of the holiday world!!
And if you haven't been to a Pontins try it!! Its a good laugh, but make sure you check in any lifes issues before you get in there. With anything, life is what you make it, I definitely recommend it for a weekend away or a themed weekend, especially if Im performing there!!
The Final show of the tour is Sunday @ southport I will now sleep for the next few days Maybe i'll just move my bed into the kitchen!! I promise i wont be getting up for anything!!
Ive had many messages regarding the blogs, just want to say a big thankyou to those guys it was like you were on tour with me!! well Kind of!! And Sanz's majorettes!! even though sanz got an absolute battering at air hockey. Im willing to give him the chance to get his credibiltiy back (His not allowed to show his face in any more arcades!!) So hopefully Sunday we can settle the whole thing!!
