Well all good things come to an end and Southports show on Sunday completed the end of the journey for the summer season run. The show was brilliant mainly becuase the Blue coats had to settle a battle of the sex's challenge since the start of the tour. The challenge was keeping co-ordinated with a simple dance move (Reminiscent of "The Temptations" moves) with a bottle of champange at stake there was everything to loose!! The Ladies went 1st and i have to say were brilliant. They were co-ordinated and took the steps to a whole differnt level. Next up were the lads but .... only 2 guys were present. In order to bump up the numbers they had to request Jack a junior blue coat who had just won his title that afternoon. Jacks dad also came up to increase the numbers. The guys did their thing in true class and style. Some of the moves they did must have got picked up by satellite, they were so slick!! But the Lads did me proud. It was all up to the audience to decide who would walk away with the prize. And im pleased to say the atmosphere was electric. It was truly a battle of the sex's. In the past the ladies win this hands down due to the amount of noise generated. But tonight for the 1st time accross the tour the gents represented. i think every man in the audience made sure he made some sort of noise which proved too much for the ladies.
So Im proud to say on the last show of the tour at Southport 2007 the Gents have won the battle of the sex's !!!!!!
(Tracey... my dear tracey after all is said and done ....We won!! We won!!!)
The rest of the show went on to get better and better. And again due to the audience really having a great time. I think many were coming to the last day of their holidays and were really up for going out with a Bang!! It was almost like a concert. Majority of the room were out of their seats and enjoying the music.
Due to other comitments Sanz was unable to make this trip and he was missed. (Sanz all the girlies were asking for you!! especially the bar staff!!.............. and before anyone gets the wrong impression and has Sanz down as somone that like a tipple!!, thats where Sanz would stand to watch the audience and performances!!)
What a way to end a 6 weeks tour, high energy and an all round fun time. As I had a few days rest, my vocals were strong. No strain what so ever which allowed for more emphasis on performance, as the voice was back to its peak.
So Much has been learnt on this run, other performers that i met like Lights Fantastic with their UV puppets show, came to the same venues and were the childrens entertainment, you know i loved the show!! i think the grown ups secretly like it too!! with their energy and vibe nothing was a problem they just got on with it and delivered. Kevin Bates Mr Lights fantastic shared allot of his experience stories with me which really helped me look forward to the future. When a seasoned performer can look at you and see quality and even help with tips and tricks to engage an audience and share his experiences, that knowldege i will cherish for a lifetime.
So ive perfromed for thousands of people over the six weeks, personally met hundreds and put smiles on faces. Most important of all i managed to get through it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yeah there were lows but the high's out weighed them 10 fold.
The news came in last week that i have been selected for a Warner Village tour next year. So will apply the same mind set and step the game up to make sure i continue to push the boundaries and take the "Journey Into Soul" to the next level. I would just like to say a big thankyou to all the Pontins ents managers, Blue coats , receptions staff, accommodations staff, duty managers bar staff and most important of all the guests (especially the guys that came specifically to support me) , for making my 1st solo tour a memorable one. Each of the Pontins teams played a part in making this a fun expereicnce. Reception staff and bar staff would always recommend me to guests . All of the pontins teams work very hard and I wish you all the best and hopefully I'll get to see you all again one day soon.
So what do i do now......
The ultimate goal is to get the live band together but I know that will take a bit of time. Now the next job is to focus on the revamped single "Undress U " which I have recently got back from Don-E who enhanced the production for me. Im confident i now have a product i can start pushing out and get it ready to sell. I will also get back to mentoring and teaching vocals at schools for a project starting in october so I'll be busy there. It will be a good way to pass on my experiences over summer to the young people and let them know there is more to the music business other than the charts!.
To all that have been keeping up with the tour, thankyou so much for reading and leaving comments. Its funny you can be surrounded by thousands of people and still be all alone. Knowing that you guys had an interest really helped me along the way. I really felt i had a bit of support, If i was down or worried about my voice going the messages came through to pick me up again. thank you all so much for that. it really did make a difference as i didnt want to let you all down and throw in the towel.
Until the next bit of news.
Take care and God Bless you all
