My current favorite podcast is called "The News from Lake Wobegon". It's from a show called "A Prairie Home Companion" on NPR. I think… The humor is clever and quite dry, full of observation and honesty. The narrator, Garrison Keillor is quite relaxing to listen to. Basically it's a story format, sharing what's happened in "Lake Wobegon" that week.

This weeks podcast was about Memorial Day. As I was listening to it I began to think about my brother. He's going to Afghanistan in August. He's already done about a year stint in "the Iraq". It was his choice to go back overseas. My brother has looked out for me my whole life. It's just part of his nature, to care for other people. I'm pretty sure it's everyone's nature to "care for other people" but John puts action to it. He spends more time doing favors for people (friends, people he just met, Grandma, Mom and Dad, etc) than doing anything for himself. Being in the Gaurd essentially means he's serving the entire country, and I understand that's what makes him go (as in what makes him tick), I just wish he wouldn't. But I'm proud that he does. I just don't want to lose my brother.

Click here to listen to this podcast. I understand it's long, but make some time and you just might enjoy it. Things move quite a bit slower in Lake Wobegon.
