I swear, there’s been something going on in this country for a very long time, and it’s getting worse by the year, by the month. So bad, I wanna kick in my TV sometimes, just so I can have the simulated sensation of dancing on Sarah Palin’s face. What’s all this chauvinistic BS about there being parts of the country that are more American and hard-working than others? The conservative republicans have been pushing that idea like they thought it was the morphine button. And for what? To punish anyone who takes a closer look at their agenda?

The thing that gets me is that their staunchest proponents are people who’ll never benefit from it. The dirt-floor, out on the porch with a shotgun, dogs under the porch, wife’n'kid-beating sum’bitches who can barely afford to eat are always the first ones to argue for the rich politicians who don’t believe a word that comes out of their own mouths. Populists just don’t care about religion, they don’t care about the future of our country, they’re just on the grift. But as long as they squawk about “family values,” Suzie B. Evangelical never knows the difference.

And the best part? It doesn’t matter what anyone believes. It’s all about power. About being treated like you’re superior without ever having to lift a finger. Just because you were born into a particular race, born straight, born rich, born in a certain part of the country, or brought up christian. These people look down at themselves exactly as they are, in all their flaws and ugliness, and say “perfection achieved.” And we’re either supposed to fall all over ourselves to conform or quietly disappear.

I’m so tired of it.
