It's kind of amazing how many of us have been listening to MSNBC and also talking about it. About 5 pm, I was on the phone with a musician who works at an ABC affiliate in Rochester and he was watching it. The next call was to a classic rock personality in the Philly market--same thing. It goes without saying that it supplemented my evening nap, as well.

Father's Day and listening to your kid (and your interview subjects) was the common thread of many of the folks who talked with Keith, Andrea, Chris and company.

I think for MSNBC, the type of programming they're doing is a quest for healing for them. It's understood and it is this channel's equivalent of rock radio playing nothing but the Beatles when John Lennon was murdered.

Enough Said

Watched the tributes to him last night. Very sad, but at least he went quickly and doing what he loved, as you said. I never knew what a terrific relationship he had with his own Dad and he brought that into the relationship with his son. It seems like NBC is dedicating Fathers Day to him. What a beautiful tribute.

His son went to Boston College and Tim was up here a lot. He was a guest conductor for the Boston Pops and a huge Springsteen fan. I loved his program because he was always fair. A great journalist.

They did a great job saying goodbye to Tim Russert. I loved how he reported and he will be missed greatly.

The whole newsroom where I work was saddened to hear of his death. I couldn't bear to watch the tributes, but I agree that it's good that it was swift and he was doing what he loved.
