I've seen the above statement in various places over the last few weeks and, to be honest, it sickens me. Does nobody else see the hypocrisy in this? For as long as I can remember I've been told that I should be "color-blind", that ALL men are created equal, and that it is good and proper to "...dream that...little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.", and anyone who knows me knows that I do believe all of these things. So why is it acceptable for the very people who claim ownership of these ideals to proclaim "My President is Black"? It's not only hypocritical, it's also incendiary (look it up). The increased racial tension that is surely coming over the next few years can only be fueled by such proclamations. It's like a schoolyard taunt...and while I could care less about taunts, my concern is for MY Country! I am not the least bit upset about the color of Obama's skin...I never cared before the election and I still don't. What I do care about is the ever widening gap between right and left in this country. Historically speaking, we have never been more ideologically divided as a nation than we are right now...including the Civil War era! Let that sink in...

I know it feels good to revel in perceived victory, but there are much more important things to be concerned about than "My President is Black". If that's all you cared about in this election, I hope you enjoy your celebration...there won't be much else to celebrate for a while...

What really gets me is how some people actually believe the hype they've been spoon-fed by the leftist media that "Obama becoming President is the realization of Dr. King's 'Dream'." Hogwash! As you've already pointed out, millions voted for him BECAUSE of his skin color rather than the content of his character. Besides, Martin Luther King's dream was all about equality...a message that today has been twisted into a need for "diversity." Furthermore, though few want to admit it, Dr. King himself registered in 1956 as...(drumroll)...a Republican!....As for people claiming Obama is "the first elected President who understands the struggle of the black man in America," nothing could be farther from the truth. The reality is that Barack Obama is the product of a white Kansas woman and a Kenyan immigrant. Barry-O grew up in the middle-upper-class, never truly experiencing what it was like to "struggle" through poverty. He attended elite schools, including ivey-league college. Just how on earth can anyone think that he could possibly "understand the struggle of the black man in America"?....I could go on, but I'll save it for my own blog!
