Firstly a big thank you to anyone who has come to a gig or bought a CD over the past year.
It’s been just shy of a year since I go together with “The Man in the Street” a group of musicians I assembled with the view to them maybe adding some extra instrumentation for my next album.
Well, those guys turned out to be much more than hired hands. Each one has added a unique and totally brilliant quality to the music. We became a ‘band’ in every sense of the word and I can’t thank them enough for their commitment and enthusiasm.
We will release our new album ‘Upside Down Revolution” on 25th September at the Peacock lounge in Huddersfield. So far it’s sounding great, and I just can’t wait to let it loose into the wild, and get folks’ reaction. Even in it’s early stages, I get the feeling that this is going to be something special, as for the first time, I feel that every song on there is worthy of it’s place.
In terms of my life, I have decided to give up alcohol for a month. After that I’m going to assess where I’m at with it and see if I want to carry on. It’s not that I feel I have a problem as such, just that I have got into some negative habits of drinking a little too much too often. I don’t like the way it makes me feel physically and mentally and I get the sense my body is telling me it needs a break. By pledging this commitment ‘online’ or in public, it will give me a sense of responsibility that will help in my weaker moments.
