Current mood:  amused

I was getting too upset/wrappedup/bitter about the election. We had an awful Governor's race here in Washington state, as well as a 'death with dignity' proposal that passed. Not to mention I really was torn about the presidential race, especially and mostly, because our new president in waiting is so gung ho about killing babies that it seems abortion is going to be the birth control of choice offered to the poorer women of our world.

Nice.

Instead of making myself crazy sick, I prayed. Alot. And, when the results came rolling in, I was a little suprised...but then I remembered two scriptures that have since helped ALOT....reminders that we, as believers, are not OF this world. Ephesians 1 and 1 Peter. So, what this allows me to do, is to live IN this world of which according to the way the election results went, I seem to have not the same values, morals, etc, but not be OF this world. This is not my permanent dwelling place and in fact, I should set my mind on our Lord and His kingdom, insuring that the others who populate this place with me know His word and His will and will not be swayed by this place.

I am not saying I do not have responsibility in this world, I do, otherwise wouldn't He have just sucked me up to Home when I was saved?? :) But instead, He left me here to be His hands, His feet, His eyes, His love and that is the challanging take away I got from the election results.

Be blessed, do not give up hope, and keep your heart and mind on Him.
