For history's sake, I might as well write down our set list. Usually the fans take care of this for the band, but given that we're our own biggest fans, we'll take it upon ourselves. On the sound check we played some of NRBQ's 12 bar blues. Then we noodled around on "Time is Tight," what I consider the greatest top-down convertible song. We actually got started by playing Bob Dylan's "Don't Ya Tell Henry," which in terms of spirit and arrangement, ours matches The Band's version more closely. "Smack Dab in the Middle" -- I'm guessing this is a Ray Charles composition. I've heard the Mills Brothers do this. I fell in love with the Ry Cooder version -- his chicken skin music phase. Ours is a more electric version, Jeff plays a surf-style guitar.
