it's been quite the year... 2008 was filled with many new places and faces and sounds.... we took off running in january, mixing the desert rose album to be released in april of 2008. i will always remember that night as one of the best of my life... that was the night we brought desert rose to life onstage. i got to play with the full band from the album to a packed house at the troubadour in los angeles where many legendary artists have started their careers. from there, rene and i took off for a whirlwind of shows, taking us all over the u.s. from los angeles to new york city, through texas and wisconsin and so many places in between. i've made so many new friends along the way, and i'm so thankful for how much love and support everyone has shown me through this experience. we played some great shows in sturgeon bay wisconsin, then again at the steelbridge festival, with jackson brown. also the radio and records conference in boulder co with lindsey buckingham!!! these are two of my favorite legendary artists of all time... more unforgettable moments!!! in august we found ourselves back in l.a. for the premiere of "the women." what an amazing feeling to hear my song for the first time on the big screen... and in the same theater as meg ryan and all the stars from the film! another night to never be forgotten. from there we set out for more touring... through colorado and into the north-eastern united states. shelbourne falls, ma was one of the highlights of the year.. if you ever find yourself in massachusettes, i highly recommend going there. and now we are heading into the holidays and a new year with many great things in store. as of present, i am living month to month in austin, texas where i am finishing my second album with will and charlie sexton... it is truly a gift that this album is going to see the light of day... it's really incredible to work with the sexton brothers, not just as artists but as people. i've been very lucky this year to work with so many talented musicians, especially such great spirited ones as well.... it makes the memories that much more special. thank you to everyone who has believed in me and been a part of and supported my journey... it means more than i can ever properly express. i hope you are all enjoying the holiday season, and i hope that 2009 is filled with much love and happiness!
lots of love
