I've been sitting in me home away from home (Starbucks) planning out some lesson plans for a youth retreat that I am speaking at. My mind has been rushing from thought to thought, scripture to scripture, and song to song. Finally, I have come to a point of reckoning. If God is not in it, for me, it just is not worth it. I have lived my life long enough without a guiding light, a trailblazer, a warrior, a savior. Now, when I say savior I hope that religiosity has not thrown you for such a loop that this word has lost its depth. Of course, I am referring to Christ, but going further with that I am referring to the completeness of what a savior is. A savior is something or someone that is able to not only hold their own pains and burdens, but that of those around them. A savior is something or someone that can grasp hold of you in the darkest and deepest of abyss and pull you out to see once again the light of the morning. A savior is a redeemer and restorer. Not just to former glory and position, but to that which has never been reached or attained before. Finally, a savior is to the utmost, a necessity. Whether for mere moments or for each step along our journey. The reason for necessity is simply as follows. We all need someone, who will give everything of themselves, all of their love, all of their faith, all of their energy, all of their life for us. That we might truly, deeply live.
