Just a couple weeks ago I was contacted by a record label asking me to come down to Nashville and play some songs for them and a couple other labels as well. After calming down and re-reading the message about a million times. I took a look at the label's web page and called some friends who had been on that side of the business to get some insight on what this all means and doesn't mean. All these things are just boring details, but suffice it to say this could mean anything from absolutely nothing to absolutely everything. (pretty wide range of possibilities here)
Anyway the real point of interest to me is that these people found me. I didn't send anything to this label or any affiliate...they found me. It's so much nicer when someone seeks you out than the other way around. If nothing else, it's nice to feel pursued. HOWEVER...
What all this told me is that many, many times in life it comes down to right place right time and then some. The "and then some" part is very important. When one finds themselves in the right place at the right time the next big issue is are they ready to be there? Are they ready to rise up and give everything they can to stay there?
Furthermore, are they willing to give all they have even if it means they might be moved out of this place and put back were they previously were.
I realize all this writing is somewhat cryptic and cloaked, but nonetheless, I am excited for what this could mean for my music and I am fully committed to do my best and be who I am without fear. It is time to rise up and be bigger than myself.
